Do It Now
I expect to pass through this world
but once.
Any good thing, therefore, that I can do
or any kindness that I can show
to any fellow human being
let me do it now.
Let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

Information about the Johnston cemetery
Davine, I believe that you were the creator of the Johnston Cemetery site, if so here is some information that you may want to put in the cemetery description: This Cemetery located on the Wade Johnston home place, and is about two miles from Littleton on the right-hand side of Eden Ferry Road. A visit in Aug of 2016 proved un-successful, the exact location of the cemetery was not found even though it is marked on an old topo map of the area. The area has not been farmed for many years and has returned to nature. A resident of the area stated that "(she) had never seen the cemetery but that it was said to be located on a path back of the road". The land the cemetery is believed to be on, is clearly marked no trespassing.

Wade Hampton Johnston
Davine, I have for the past 15 years been researching my Johnston ancestors of North Carolina. Would you be willing to transfer the following three memorials you created in January of this year. Looking at your memorials I did not see a connection to the Johnston family. So I hope you will agree to transfer them to me.(I know it is out of the Find A Grave recommended range, Wade is my 1C6R) But I recently visited Littleton and have a lot of information on the family that I want to include on Wade Hampton Johnston's Memorial # 156745232, His Wife Martha A Daniel Johnston's memorial #156745220 and their son Willis Sterling Simpson's Memorial #156745237. My Find-A-Grave # is 47606610

I have a copy of an old topo map that shows the cemeteries location, I attempted to use on my most recent trip to North Carolina in August 2016. I was however unable to get onto the cemetery property. It was very overgrown and was clearly posted with No Trespassing signs. It appears that no farming has been done on this land for the past 50 years or more. You stated that the condition of the cemetery was listed as poor in 1940, well from the looks of it I don't think it has gotten any better.I now have some leeds of whom to contact, and when the snakes have retired for the winter, and I have the day off of school for "Lee,Jackson,King Day" I hope to return and locate the cemetery in part to photograph it, and to locate some of Wade and Martha's other children who it is said "may be buried" in this cemetery, located on what was their fathers estate. (LJK Day is how it is still celebrated in much of Virginia where I teach history.)
Sincerely Kenneth Fawcett

Hi, I live in Allen Oklahoma, I was at the Steedman Cemetery 2 years ago, and there are hardly any tomb stones with names on them. Most are just a sand stone ( no inscription ) where the graves are. all but 1 of the spirit houses are collapsed too.

Thomas Brown #65383386
Hi Davine,
Thomas Brown and his wife Jane are at
Bethel, Kingston #69338218. I have been doing some searching on the Browns. The one at Bethel is
more fitting for him.I can't read the monument
but it may have been a memorial for him. A lot
of information on the Browns can be gotten on Roane County web site.
Thank You, Diane #48631527

Catherine"Kate" Dolphin Cassidy
Hi Davine,

Catherine " Kate" is my husbands great grandmother. She and her husband Harry"Henry" Cassidy are buried in St. Joseph's cemetery in Pittsfield.

The obituary you have posted goes to Catherine Cassidy married to James Cassidy who lived in Adams Mass

I had to do a little digging because the obit listed an Elm Street residence and Harry and Catherine lived on Elm Street in Pittsfield. James and Catherine lived on Elm Street in Adams.
I don't have a memorial for Harry and Catherine but family assures me that our Catherine died in 1953 as indicated on the Mass death index. Mrs. James Cassidy died in 1936
the memorial # is 139861541
Thanks
Mary Ann Jones
