Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born on the "South Side" of Chicago, Illinois. My family, originally Southerners, returned to the South when I was less than a year old.

My father was a well respected pastor who led me to the Lord when I was seven years old. I was honored to have him baptize me later that same year.

I served in the US Army between the years of 1981 and 1983. I did my "permanent-party" duty at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

I am married with one child. I have always been a history buff, actually majoring in history at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee and Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee. I am Southern Missionary Baptist, by religious persuasion and Republican in political persuasion.

I currently serve as Past Master of my Lodge and in many other offices, includeing: Funeral Master, District Deputy Chairman, History Committee for the Tenness Grand Lodge, F&AM. One of the proudest moments of my life came on 16 Jul 02 when I was raised as a Master Mason in Meridian Sun Lodge No. 50 in Athens, Tennessee. I also proudly serve as Past Master of my lodge. Furthermore, on 10 Sep 05 I completed my York Rite degrees and was dubbed "Sir Knight" in Athens Commandery #34.

For all gravers and genealogists, feel free to use any and all pics I may post. It gives me the greatest pleasure to assist someone in honoring a loved one who has gone on to their reward.

Hello, How do you feel about sharing your photos? I went by last year, but there was no clump of trees where I thought I should find the graves, so I could not locate it. Thanks. Jennie Hill Cobb, descended through his daughter Elizabeth Lane Hill md. Joab Hill.

Ann Rosa Lyle
Please check the Edit Tab on your profile page. You have linked Ann Rosa Lyle (9537009) with James A Armstrong (6538784) as her father. He died 43 years before she was born. I sent you a correction request to remove the link to him. Thanks, Rick

Re: memorial # 8289869
Sung Sook was my step mother.

She was married to my father Lee Vernon Hornsby.

His name is added to the grave because he was supposed to be added after he died but since Sung's death my father has moved out of the country and has remarried and has two sons.

I don't think he will be buried on us soil again.

I just wanted to clear that up.

I only met Sung a couple of times but she was a nice lady and my father called her Sookie

I don't remember her profession but it was in the medical field.

African American Community Cemetery Athens Tennessee
I am researching various cemeteries in the area and I saw this one. I am very interested in this cemetery and are researching African-American history, but I cannot find the location of this one. Do you have any further information concerning this particular cemetery?

RE: David Cantell
Thank you for the generous offer. He is not an ancestor of mine, so please keep your guardianship of this site. No one I know is interested in the things I do, so I am afraid if I have an accident, no one will know to care for the memorials that I have.

I am traveling at the moment. I will be back in about a month and will look at this message and try to send you any further info I have.

Thank you, again!
