Transfers
Thank you for all the transfers! You didn't have to do that. But I promise I will transfer them to family members, if asked to do so.

By the way, I clicked on the GPS to see just what it does and I guess it is useful after all. I wasn't sure what it was supposed to be for, except to possibly locate the grave, but I didn't know that it takes you out to a google map. So I'm sorry if I sounded ungrateful about you adding them with the Edit tab. You can keep on doing that, if you want to. I will accept any Edits you send my way.

I hope you enjoyed your stay on the island. It is my haven away from here. I enjoy hiking and biking and photographing wildlife there. The cemetery was once a more beautiful place, before the drought struck the island with such severity, you couldn't even get a glass of water at a restaurant. They want you to buy bottled water. Not because they are stingy, but because of the water it takes to wash all those glasses! Hopefully this fall and winter we will get more rain than the last few years, and the reservoir will fill back up again, and the grass will be green in the cemetery.

Take care,

B.J.

RE: Avalon
Sorry, I will not add obituaries that have names of living persons in them.

Even if they came from an online source, the Administrators of this website have asked us to omit the names of the living. I do not have time to edit every obituary that is sent to me. If you want it added, you will need to edit it yourself and resubmit.

I'm not sure that all of these Edits you are sending for GPS locations are really necessary. It is a small cemetery, the only one on the island, and I don't think anyone would have trouble finding the headstones, if they in fact were looking. Most of the visitors to that cemetery are family members of those buried there. So I really don't see the point.

Regards,

B.J.

Thank you for the info, but I do not copy and paste raw data from those websites into the bio section. If you want information added that can be added using the Edit tab, please enter it into the appropriate fields.

Thank you.

B.J.

PS regarding obituaries: If you send any more, please remove the names of surviving family members if the obit is within the past 50 years.

RE: Avalon
Oh. Are you visiting the island? I think you should know that 99% of the graves have already been photographed. There are a few with no markers, and a few new burials that haven't had the markers placed yet. I hope you didn't waste your time photographing a bunch of headstones, only to find out they were already done.

Thanks for the info.

Regards,

B.J.

Please would you remove the photo of the coordinates for her tombstone. Only 5 photos are allowed and I have a very nice photo of her I would like to add. Also when I tried to add the coordinates for her burial site--I was allowed to because the #'s weren't correct??? So I put them in her bio. Thanks so much--You do so much for findagrave and it is greatly appreciated.

Well done David for sponsoring Homer's memorial. I am sure there are others out there who will now be able to add a photo or two. Be well and of good cheer until we meet again. Max T

David:

I don't use a smart phone or tablet to take my cemetery photographs. I use a Nikon camera and download them to my computer to post on Find A Grave. Since I can't provide GPS coordinates, I always try to at least provide section and lot specifics for all photos I take.
