Bio and Links
Bio Photo Upon "googling" my great grandmother's name, I found a link to a photo of her headstone on Find a Grave. I was amazed, became hooked on this site, and have been contributing ever since.

My hope is to leave a legacy here for my children, grandchildren, and others by adding data and links.

I am not trying to amass large numbers of memorials. I just try to add data. I enjoy helping others, and I appreciate that others have helped me.

I create memorials with dignity and respect for those who have passed. I will remove a memorial if it is too sensitive for you, and I will remove photos you do not want on a memorial.

Forgive me for not having all burial locations identified. It takes time to research, some whereabouts are unknown, and some obituaries/mortuaries currently do not list burial or disposition details. Those people still deserve to be remembered here.

Unless one of my memorials is my relative or close friend, I do transfer memorials if you can and will add information.

Please let me know if I have an error so it can be corrected.

I try to make edit requests in a timely manner.

I appreciate knowing about added posts to my memorials such as photos or obituary clippings that would help me link family members.

I am happy to share photos with you to use in your family albums. Feel free to contact me.

I added many photos for McCallsburg Cemetery and Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa. I will be adding more photos when possible.

My wonderful Jiffy has crossed the "Rainbow Bridge". I would love it if you stopped by her memorial. Thanks so much! 🐱

RE: Emanuel Surfus
Hello Marilyn thank you for the message about Surfus memorial 70185216. I submitted my photo on May 2015. The second photo was submitted by a member named Howard later in September 2015. Do I have authority to delete photos others submitted?

Milligans in Tingley
I have been searching for the grave of James French Milligan and have not to date found it. His name is on the stone in Tingley, but I know that he is not buried there.

I have gone ahead and created a memorial for him and have e-mailed find a grave to designate it as a cenotaph. Would you mind adding the picture of the Milligan headstone to his memorial? Your picture that is on the memorial for his mother, Letitia Brownlee Milligan, has his name on it. If you could add that picture to his memorial, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,
Joan Ebersold

RE: William A. Truex
Yes the Truex's are all Cousins, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents. Their spellings are Truax and Du Trieux. I would love to add the headstones to their bios if you don't mind. My Truax's start with my 5th Grandmother Sarah Truax, I do have her headstone and she died in Darke County, OH.

Thank You So Much,

Thank you so much for taking Cousin William's headstone picture, it is much appreciated. As a genealogist, I want to have some kind of a picture for my ancestors. Now William has a picture and I have you to thank for that. Too many of my ancestors and loved ones have no headstone and I wish I had the money to provide for them. That is when we thank those like you who help us with that, who provide us with the pictures that are too far from us to catch.

Take Care,

You left a photo for one of my memorials. You noted it was covered with lichens and hard to read. I always take a metal brush with me when taking photos. Costs about 3-4 dollars at WalMart. Made by Stanley. About a foot long. THis does a wonderful job of scrapping off the lichens but doesn't damage the stone. Another hint. If dark stone many times can't read the writing in photo. So lightly rub handful of flour over stone and it fills the writing making it legible. For white stones same problem. I use cocoa for those. Then can dust it off with brush afterward or let mother nature wash it off. I carry a kit with brush, small bag of flour and box of cocoa.
This also helps when have a badly weathered stone and writing is hardly there any more.
Hope you find this helpful.

Gladys Miller in Greene, Iowa
Hello, Gladys is my grandmother. Thank you so much for adding the photo of the Miller Headstones in Greene's Rose Hill cemetery. The full shot with names overlaid is very helpful. I appreciate the work you put into making it.

Thank you for providing the update for the memorial AND for your delightful photos. I really like being able to read the gravestone so that I can add the transcription to the memorial, especially for a child.

Were there other names on the large stone?

Your help is sincerely appreciated, thanks again.
