I am an Orange, Texas native, now retired and reside in Humble, TX. |
A few years ago I started working on family genealogy and discovered the Find-A-Grave site and have found it to be a great research tool. I have created memorials in the area of East Texas, primarily in Orange, TX.
I will gladly make any corrections and/or additions brought to my attention. Also, I will act promptly on those transfer requests made under Find-A-Grave guidelines, i.e, "...requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

I know that these people are way before your time, but I thought that you are a native of Orange, Texas, that you or your father may have heaard these names mentioned in any of the history, stories or genealogy you may have come across
Thank you for your reply

I have many ancestors who lived in Orange, Texas.
With you being a native of Orange, Texas, I am hoping you will be able to answer a couple of questions for me.
Did you by any chance know of John Thomas Kellogg? He was my G-G-Grandfather who married Sarah J. Burgess.
I am trying to find out what ever happened to John Thomas Kellogg Sr. There is no record of death. He served in the Civil War & I have his war records. No help there. He was sick a lot & was in hospital several times.
Sarah J. Burgess Kellogg was only 34 years old when she and her two oldest sons left Liberty, Texas anc came to Orange, Texas and lived with the Oliver Bland Family. Her youngest son, George Lee Kellogg, age 3 at that time, and he was adopted by Philip DeBat who lived in Liberty, Texas. He was a Justice of the Peace and traveled at times, and eas the executor of Mary T. Carbello's estate. Mary T. Carbello married Samuel Burgess. Mary R. died in 1938 there in Orange, Texas and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
I have been to Orange, Texas a couple of times many years ago, and alomg with a couple of elderly cousins met a lady at the cemetery whose name was Nora S. Stephenson who married Joseph Lemeron Burgess.
Do any of the names I have mentioned to you sound familiar to you?
Hope to hear from you soon.
