| Bio and Links | I am a retired Alabama State Trooper. I have been doing genealogical research on my family lines for about 20 years. For the past few years I've put my research on the "back burner" but now that I've retired, I'm back into it. I enjoy going through cemeteries and each headstone tells only a very short history of that person's life. I now get to do several of my favorite hobbies, all at the same time, history, genealogy research, photography, walking through cemeteries, and motorcycle riding.
Not all of the headstones I list are family lines. If you find a correction or have additional information, just let me know.
If you have any ATWELL'S and transfer them to me, I'll take good care of them, but I will not transfer any ATWELL'S.

AUBURNDALE - Mr. Billy "B.J." Kirkland, age 80 resident of Auburndale passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to complications of pneumonia.
Mr. Kirkland was born June 26, 1929 in Newville, Alabama to Posie Lee and Annie Lucy (Holland) Kirkland. He retired as a Pharmacist in 1993 from Lakeland Regional Medical Center and was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an Auburndale resident since 1959 coming from Pensacola, Florida. B.J. was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Lakeland and a member of the Mason Lodge #91 in Lakeland.
He was preceded in death by his parents. B.J. is survived by his loving family; wife of 53 years: Faye Kirkland of Auburndale, FL; son, William Scott (Teresa) Kirkland of Auburndale, FL; daughters: Kay (David) Hellwig of Lilburn, GA and Terri (Brian) Reynolds of Loganville, GA; sister, June (Reuben) Shelley of Headland, AL; 9 Grandchildren: Dane, Rachel, Hunter, Abbie, Doug, Rebecca, Maranda, Trevor and Grace.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation's in Mr. Kirkland's name to: Lakeland Regional Medical Center (Palliative Care Unit 3rd Floor) P.O. Box 95448, Lakeland, FL. 33805.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2010 at the Kersey Funeral Home, 108 East Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale. Interment will follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 5:00 til 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements by: Kersey Funeral Home, 108 East Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale, FL 33823. (863)967-1167
