|Att: Kansas Genealogists - I have over 450 memorials in Rush County KS that I need to transfer as I am winding down my volunteer work.|
Merged Memorials: In the past year, some people are merging memorials where I have posted grave stone pictures on them and the final result is duplicate pictures. If you see one of these, please let me know and I will delete the excess.
I am starting to go down the alphabet list for Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, MO to get this done and this project will take some time.
Also, note that some of the merged memorials have a wrong picture on them, also. Folks have already contacted me about this problem. I assure you, that I posted the pictures correctly the first time. One lady told me that this website has a glitch in it as she has experienced the same problem.
Thanks for your understanding.
My family on my Father's side came to Bates County in 1842. My wife's family on her Father's side came to Bates County in 1870. Since 1994, genealogy has been a hobby of mine and a passion to help others seeing the gravestones of their loved ones on this website as many cannot afford to travel here and see them in person. Thus, in order to help burial records be caught up in Bates County and assist our local library in order that they can help seekers,(they use this website quite often), I have worked to completely photograph each cemetery I visit, list the pictures, them post them on said memorials for that particular cemetery. My job is winding down as several others have been diligently taking pictures and posting the. I, and 2 local friends are still going to small cemeteries where nobody is being buried today, documenting the cemetery, and taking pictures of the grave stones for posterity.
PICTURES: Pictures posted on this website are automatically copyrighted. My pictures are free to copy off when you copy off a memorial of your loved one to post in your genealogy book. I just ask that you don't sell them or post on other websites and if you share them, please give me credit for taking it.
Thank you and have fun in your adventure.

White cemetery, Vernon County, MO. Are there two White cemeteries? Have you had a chance to look at Grandma's red book "White's Family & their Kin" at the Bates County Historical Society. I donated the last copy of it to the Historical Society for their archives and Peggy Buhr personally received it from my husband's hands. My aunt holds the copyright and she doesn't plan on reprinting it anytime soon.
There is a broken tombstone in the first row, extreme right as you are looking into the cemetery from the gate. It's partially buried and in three pieces. I'd like to see it restored, if possible. We thought about doing sonar, but it is too costly for our pocketbook. Thank you for looking. I'll let the family know of your work.

I am putting all my family genealogy, photos, documents, etc into FamilySearch.org for safe keeping because it will always be a free website for family members to use. May I please record your cemetery photos? For a non-commercial purposes. You've done a great job of recording these cemeteries for those of us who are not able to travel. Thank you.

|Gerald "Jerry" Hobson||Oak Hill Cemetery, Eleanor Matilda Kelly Vandruff|
Should have mentioned this in my previous message - Mary Jane Vandruff was the second wife to Miller Vandruff. His first wife was Eleaner Matilda Kelly Vandruff ("Ellen") and she died November 5, 1883 in Bates County,, and may have a marker, maybe not. After Mary Jane's death Miller moved away and isburied in Ohio.

Many thanks for unearthing Mrs. Vandruff's marker. I had given up hope. I'm grateful for your help.
|MWH||RE: My photos on Ancestry.com|
Well, first, thank you very much for allowing me to use the photos. I know right, it took me 2 years to find my paternal family past ggf poring over microfiche on my lunch hour, then after like 10 years I started on my maternal side - 2 weeks on ancestry & the Mayflower. Even first to find, I think. Anyway, thanks a lot.

I wasn't sure if you objected to use of your headstone photos on Ancestry Tree with proper acknowledgment ? Since Ancestry bought. Find A Grave , I have been seeing some headstone photos on Ancestry when you look at their information - just a general summary with link if you aren 't familiar, but it isn't the same as having a picture on the persons profile. I really try to have something when I can find. I can't ask the request a photo feature because obviously there is already one. Anyway. Let me know thanks

|Lee Burner||Naria Jane Burner Herrell|
Hi, I think we must be cousins. Enoch George Burner is my gg grandfather. His son Charles Lee Burner (my namesake) is my great grandfather. Harry Enoch Burner is my grandfather and Charles Lee Burner Sr. (should have been CLB II, and me CLB III) is my father.
Anyway, there is a small typo on the website. I believe Rachel Ann Talman (or Tallman) is the correct spelling, not Talwaw.
Thanks for your work on the Burner family gravestones. I live around KC and a few weeks ago visited Oak Hill Cemetery and found most of the key graves for my line of the family.
(Charles) Lee Burner (Jr.)
I believe you posted a picture by mistake on memorial # 35357003.
