Brokenstraw Creek Cemetery
Hi Pat. Still nothing new to add. Still searching. Didn't want you to think that I forgot about you. Recently another request came in for another cemetery in that same area. It's name is Old Andrews Farm Cemetery. No markers that I am aware of for that one either. Trying to find old records.

What happened to all of the listings that were here? The entire cemetery was listed and now it is all gone except for a few. My Great Grandfather and my Uncle do not appear anymore. I was there to visit the cemetery 3 years ago. What happened to everything that was listed? If I re-list, will it remain on here? There are tombstones for each of them and I have the bill of sale for when the graves were bought in 1888.

Still pursuing your request. The cemetery I found last year was on the Brokenstraw, but was not your cemetery. Since then I have found a description of the area where the cemetery is: Irvinton "At the mouth of the Brokenstraw under the hill"
My daughter & I went to the mouth & searched for the hill. No markers or evidence of a cemetery were located. The area is quite overgrown. We took pictures of the area. I will post them for you on the site when I can load them.
We are still looking for clues & info on the cemetery. We live about a 1/2 mile away in Irvine (Irvinton).
There have been archaelogical digs in that area over the years & 4 skeletons had been removed. The info I found though, made it sound like it was Indian artifacts. Still a mystery to me. Still looking. I love a challenge. Maybe you can pursue the lead on the digs? I will too.

RE: Pictures
You're welcom. Glad I could help. Actually, I live far away, too. I just happened to be in the area.

Brokenstraw Creek Cemetery
Hello Pat,
Being a native of this area my entire life, you intrigued my curiosity with your request. I never knew such a cemetery existed. I starte searching for this cemetery & thought maybe I had been tipped off to it this weekend by the Boy Scouts. I went out to this cemetery along the Brokenstraw Creek with camera in hand. The cemetery was quite overgrown & unkept. The stones are quite old. Dating to early 1800's w/ Revolutionary & War of 1812 markers. Some of the stones are not readable. Unfortunately I did not locate your requests. Either I found the wrong cemetery or they were in the illegible stones. I will keep looking though.

Pat, I went ahead and created Jennie's memorial, and uploaded pics to her page, and then transferred the memorial to you.

Thank you for trying to find my grandfather's grave. I was told he is there. My Grandmother and some of the children are there. My Grandfather remarried, so maybe he is buried some where else? I am at a loss. I would like to have the photo you took. Is it next to Amy E. Goings?
Thank you again.
