Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm blessed to be married to the best husband in the world, am the mother of 2 wonderful daughters and grandmother of 8 beautiful grandchildren. I am also a RETIRED Professor of Nursing from a state university.

Genealogy is a hobby that began when I was a child and was allowed to explore the attic of my grandparents home (circa 1866). I found old pictures, store ledgers, Bibles, books, letters, etc., that dated back to the mid 1800's. My grandmother located the family history work by Bertha Sockwell Blackwood and from there, I was hooked! Whenever I get a spare minute (which doesn't happen often enough!) I grab a camera and head to a cemetery or I bury myself in family data on!

I am happy to make transfers to family members and to very close friends who can add personal stories or information to the memorial . I also try to make all edits requested but i do request your patience. It make take some time for me to do so.

Wanda, I did some updates on my entries for my infant siblings. I appreciate your memorial for them as well. My mother had letters from all over the world and clippings, etc. When she was sick, 2 of her sisters cleaned house for her & threw everything away. QUITE SILLY! I would give an eye tooth to be able to have those things now. Anyway, the memorial #'s for the ones I created are as follows... Spencer,Jr #73087581; Dianne #73087604; Sherrianne #73087633; and Yvonne #73087651. Your memorial # is 103648721. Just to update you. It has been so long since I've been on find-a-grave, I forgot I needed to update these. For some reason, my parents never did grave stones for the Quads or an older sibling Daphne, I hope to do so before long and will put photos on memorials when I do. Cornelia Hutto

Hill Cemetery, Newburg
Members of the Samuel Overton Hill family were buried at Newburg 1.7 miles south of co rd 24 on the east side of Co Rd 81. The Hill Cemetery is listed in Alabama GenWeb, it lists the names of the deceased. I am disabled and don't drive, but I googled the road and it looks like hay fields. Would you be so kind to create and list this cemetery and the deceased on Find A Grave. I don't collect or maintain memorials. I try to link as many family members as possible. There are also some Hill family buried across the road from king drive in. There were some headstones at one time. These people are Chillion Elliott Hill and a few members of his family, brother of the newburg folks

Myrtle Young
You inadvertently posted the obit for Myrtle Campbell Young (d.1916) on Mattie Irene Young (d.2000). Oops! You might want to fix. I just happened to stumble across it. They are both in Florence City Cemetery.

Dear Wanda,
YOU have done a GREAT service by adding the Myrna Cemetery!!!! I have searched relentlessly through the years for the children of Howell and Elizabeth (Loftin) Parker. This is the proof that the DAR requires for membership. How wonderful to finally have the information of her final resting place.
I've sent you some info to add to her Memorial Page. Do you have any idea as to where the Myrna Cemetery is located? On my next research trip from Michigan to Alabama, I'll go to the cemetery and take photos.
Bless you and THANK-YOU!
