RE: Galloways
Hi, when helping friends with their research, if I can make memorials for their relatives, I do. Then I need to find good homes for the memorials so I adopt them out to good caretakers. I hope that's ok to do :) Lee

RE: WO William Balduff
I stumbled onto William while researching his sister. Curiosity got the best of me after googling his name and I found your memorial. A brave young man from Oklahoma who had enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force to fight for England was not what I was expecting. Around the time of William’s enlistment, British pilots were being trained at the Darr School of Aeronautics in his hometown of Ponca City, Oklahoma. The impression of these young lads must have inspired him. I couldn’t sit back and let William’s sacrifice go unrecognized. I found his military service records online. A sixty-plus page history of his enlistment papers, letters of reference from local Ponca City residents on William’s character, training records and assessments, and even the events of his untimely end. It is because of the selfless sacrifice of brave young men and women of his generation, that we are able to enjoy the freedoms we hold so dear.
For more on the Darr School of Aeronautics and how they helped train over 1,100 British pilots at what was called “British Flying Training School # 6”, please visit the following website:

The Odd Fellows Cemetery where William’s father and grandparents are buried is also home to a memorial to seven British pilots who died In training .

Thank you for preserving William’s memory

Lake Saskatoon
I have just posted the following on Michael Moore's page

You are quite correct of course-here is the reply just in from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission after I told them that ‘their’ two separate cemeteries are in fact one and the same.

“Happens quite often in Canada. One has a WW1 grave and name changed between wars so new cemetery created for second war.”

Lake Saskatoon Cemetery
Hello Again:

If you look at the photo I took of the sign at the entrance to Lake Saskatoon Cemetery (and posted to the Find A Grave website), you will see that the cemetery is called "Lake Saskatoon Cemetery".

I do acknowledge that there may be other websites out there that refer to this cemetery by a different name, but I spent a whole day in the cemetery last week photographing all the stones there, and I can assure you that it is called "Lake Saskatoon Cemetery".

Here is a link where you can see the picture with the sign above the cemetery entrance:

I have submitted a request to Find A Grave management to merge the two sites.

Lake Saskatoon Cemetery

You created three memorials (and, in the process, created a new cemetery) for Lake Saskatoon Cemetery.

Another much more complete entry for this cemetery exists, it is at this link:

May I trouble you to please edit the three memorials at the link below, and move them to the cemetery at the link above? This will ensure that all the stones from this cemetery are in one place and that there are no duplicates.

Here is the link to the duplicate cemetery holding your three memorials that should be "deleted", so to speak:

FYI, I photographed all the stones in this cemetery yesterday and will be uploading the results in the coming months. There are about 300 graves there.

RE: Scopwick Church
Thank YOU.
Feels like it might be a good weekend to visit a cemetery, since most of our snow has melted

Hope you have a great weekend too
