With much of my immediate family growing in and around the Washington D.C area for generations, I was never overly curious about family history. After a friend who was more interested than I found photos of relatives gravesites in other states who were born during the time of Andrew Jackson I was amazed. Even a marker for my grandmother's unnamed infant son which I had seen in home movies had been photographed by someone.|
I am most familiar with Arlington Cemetery, Oak Hill and Cedar Hill Cemetery on Pennsylvania Avenue. I have taken many photos for my own enjoyment and for friends over the years, but realize others are often not so near.

Better not look then, Mike! hehe!
Thanks again for the edit for Agnes Latchford Misel.
I hope to get to Mt. Olivet in D.C. this spring to take some photos of grave markers. There are lots of Latchford ancestors buried there so the place intrigues me.
Ciao for now,

My son used to live in the neighborhood, and I spent a little while in the cemetery when visiting him. It didn't look like it was regularly maintained!

Thanks for sorting that out. I think I've done what you asked. Let me know if you need anything more. Linda

I cannot determine his middle name as Adam. Oak Hill Cemetery records have S as the middle initial. Familysearch.org marriage index has A as middle initial. Evening Star news articles have middle initial as A, H and S.
Is there a document with Adam as his middle name? Otherwise, I must decline your edit, but I will make a note in the bio section regarding the many variations and records for his middle name/initial.

Dear Mr. Walsh,
The photographs are glorious, Thank-you.
Thank-you for showing the picture of the truck
that brought the wreaths. You capture the whole
picture and illustrate the story with your camera.
All parents should dress the kids up with gloves
and a coat and bring them to a cemetery to open
the little minds, to the service men and women, who sacrificed their minds, bodies and hearts for their Country.
I need to remember to salute when I visit
a Veterans grave site, you know, I never even
thought of that and I should know better.
Thank-you for the delightful update.
