With much of my immediate family growing in and around the Washington D.C area for generations, I was never overly curious about family history. After a friend who was more interested than I found photos of relatives gravesites in other states who were born during the time of Andrew Jackson I was amazed. Even a marker for my grandmother's unnamed infant son which I had seen in home movies had been photographed by someone.|
I am most familiar with DC area's, Holy Rood, Arlington Cemetery, Oak Hill and Cedar Hill Cemetery on Pennsylvania Avenue. I have taken many photos for my own enjoyment and for friends over the years, but realize others are often not so near.

Oh. P.S. His dad was a Lee, his mother's family was Tolson, and they married a Smackum. He never even heard that last name because his parents didn't talk about the rest of the family. :-(
My name's Randi, too, but I'm a girl. I used to live in Northern Virginia but hadn't discovered genealogy yet.
I'm researching an old friend's family with at least a few burials at Mt. Olivet. I contacted the church and the lady was extremely nice but I'm guessing she keeps pretty busy. Do you go out to Mt. Olivet much? I'm going to email her again, but if I have no success, will you be able to photograph at least two graves?
I'm in west central Ohio, north of Dayton. If you need something out here, let me know. The very first time I went grave searching, I found it at the side of the road and didn't even have to get out of the car. Wow, this is easy, I thought! Not so much, it seems, but it's still fun.

Thank you so very much for adding a photo of his grave.
Thank you for adding my dad, John Oliver Reed.
My name is Kathryn, my father Cornelius (Jesse) Moran, is buried at Mt Olivet, brother was Michael, sister was Mary (Cady is her married name). My father's family came from Limerick Ireland. Hopefully, I can connect with long lost relatives.

Thank you for responding to my request for information. Our family has been involved for a long time in genealogical research. My brother wondered from where in Ireland your people came. That is, which county. Is there any other information you could share such as names of people on your family tree? Just wondering how far back we may be related! Anything you wish to share is appreciated. Good to know that others are keeping tabs on the past!

After locating our grandfather's grave site online, I noticed that your name is at the bottom as a contributor to the information. My maiden name is Walsh, and there are many of us Walshes in the D.C. metro area. If you are a relative, we would be interested in knowing where you fit on the family tree. When you get a chance, maybe you could respond to this email and we can share ancestral backgrounds. Look forward to hearing from you.

I should have realized that the Suggestion WAS the poem for Katie and I will add it. Thank you so much for the suggestion. It will make the child more real ans special.
