Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Georgia Lynn Waldrip Paul. In 2009 my husband, Louis and I retired to the half of the old Langston farm that my dad, George Waldrip bought in the early 1960s after my grand mother's death. It's a wonderful place to spend our retirement years.

This farm is where my 2great grand parents settled, Anner Hudspeth and John McClure Langston when they moved to Mississippi. My great grand mother, Lucy Ann Langston grew up here. She married Maj. Robert Aaron Dean, Sr. while he was serving in the Confederate Army (Feb. 8, 1864). He took over farming the land when the war ended in 1865 and their family grew up here. My grand mother, Georgia "Daggie" Dean and my grand father, Edwin Joel Waldrip took over the farm and my dad's family grew up here.

Although my dad could never talk my mother into leaving Memphis and living here, he spent many of his days before and after he retired at the farm. My brother, Larry and I never lived here growing up, but we spent a lot of time here. This was our second home and we both live here now.

The other half of my family tree is from McNairy County, Tennessee, "Walking Tall" country. We have Wilsons and Cheshiers on that side of my family.

I've been building a family tree on and have found so much out about both sides of my family. I've found about 12 Civil War soldiers mostly Confederate, but also Union and so far 1 Revolutionary War soldier. My dad and 3 of his brothers served in WWII.

You just never know what you will find in your family tree.

My husband Louis Paul is a retired musician/entertainer who came up in the best years of Memphis Music, the late 1950s to now. You can find him on You Tube and in the Stax Museum in Memphis.

We both grew up in Memphis, but we love living in the great state of Mississippi now and wish we had moved here much sooner. I knew Louis from concerts and TV when we were teenagers, but it took another 35 years for us to meet face to face. We've been together since 1998, he says it's a record for him with the same woman and it will soon be a record for me with the same man. The best part, he wrote a song just for me. Now how many people can say that about their husband.

Louis family are Pauls, Shaws, Wahlquest and Shirleys. If you are kin to any of these family names I've mentioned in my bio, let us hear from you. I've already met several of our cousins from Find A Grave and through email.

Can we go with miss typed? I won a spelling bee in the sixth grade.

Thanks for catching it.

RE: Sam & Dell Cheshier
Yes indeed I took a full photo of the marker. I see I missed posting it on Dell so I just got that done. If you look at Sam and click on the photo tab at the top you will see it is posted on his memorial as well.

Thanks, Kathy

RE: Louella & Thomas Goddard
I did a do-over on Louella $ Thomas Goddard's gravestone. I wasn't happy with the old one so I redid it today.

No problem Lynn. I wish the stones would have been in a little better shape so I could have read the inscriptions and clarified the one date. Note that I added a photo for Samuel also.

RE: Robert E. Moore
They must have not have resided at 10031 Lanshire the entire time. An ad for the house reads:

Open 2-5; 10031 Lanshire. Lake Ridge Estates. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, den, electric kitchen. Early American. Central air. $1,200 down. Lois Long, realtor. ...... 1-14-1962, Section 3, Pg. 17

Another ad for the house on 9-26-1965, Section G, pg. 21 .... 10031 Lanshire. 3-bedroom, 2-bath, den, central heat and air. Electric kitchen. Assume large loan.

It must've been hard to sell. .... 11-7-1965, Section G, pg. 20. 10031 lanshire - 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, den, central heat and air. Assume large loan.
