I'm Peter Hakze, residing in the city of Almere in the center of the Netherlands, 15 miles east of Amsterdam. Since about 1985 I'm investigating a.o. my mother's family Van der Tuin (= Of the Garden). In March/April 1893 Johannes van der Tuin and his wife Margje Groen (= Green) emigrated with their children from NL to South Dakota, Charles Mix County, Edgerton (or Overijssel), a settlement near Platte. Margje's parents and siblings Groen emigrated at the same time to the same place. I'm interested in all what happened there to them, so if you have some info for me which isn't already on my Rootsweb site, I would be very grateful.|
Since a few years I'm also very interested in all other Dutch families that emigrated from the Netherlands to the USA and Canada incl. their descendants and I like very much to improve their FAG memorials with more info and photos, create new memorials for them and link them to their ancestors in the Netherlands.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the suggested edit for Henry. He does have family members named William, including his father and son. However, I haven't found an actual record that indicated his middle name was William. Do you happen to recall what record you found? Thank you.

Memorial#172761824 Thank you for going the extra mile to find this information. I had very little information on her. Thanks

Thanks for the edits and explanation of the name Ruiter. I am of Italian descent and the Dutch names can be confusing so I appreciate the help. :-)
To answer your question, my husband and I were born in different areas of Michigan, and live in Lansing, Michigan, the state capital.
I see you are near Amsterdam. We were there a few years ago when we went on a Rhine River cruise. A lovely city and wonderful cruise.

Greetings Peter. I have added your info. If you would like to have these memorials I would be happy to transfer them to you. I have a bit of DNA from the Netherlands but no clue as to which ancestor passed it on to me. So if you do not mind I will look at surnames in your collection for hints.

Done and done :-). Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help!
|Alexandra Montgomery||Sybren Tymstra|
One more thing! It's not much, but I just found a death notice saying Sybren's funeral arrangements were handled by Westwood Village Mortuary in Los Angeles.
