Bio Photo Just a Findagraver helping my spouse with Family History. I am not a photo volunteer but will make efforts to try and help with central western Colo. area in hopes to repay those that have helped me.

I do not have a problem transferring memorials for editing/linking purposes to those that can show a family line. Naturally I will retain those of my family.

I hereby serve notice regarding my photos: If they can be used to enhance any memorial anyplace, please use them. Signed LMH

There's the line if you want to figure out how you are related! If I counted right, I think you and John are 6th cousins. BD

Probably. I haven't been able to figure out where Maria's parents are buried (George Byer/Bier and Susannah Hoover). I think I will create memorials for them anyway, but give me a bit. I'm supposed to be typing an assessment! My regular email is

Yup! Here is the link for John's great-great-grandmother:

Her mother was a Hoover, and I can't link them on Find A Grave, but her ancestor was Jacob Hoover:

I am curious about your Hoover's KS connection as I live in KS. Also, this Maria left Canada for MI, then to KS, then back to MI. Any connection there? Becky

WAY back in my husband's line, his Doan married a Hoover. That was my interest in adding any Hoovers I've found! BD

RE: Photo Label- Mary Recher
Hi, Larry. I don't have anything official stipulating the proper spelling of Mary/Maria Recker/Recher. I just saw it spelled both ways in my mother's notes.

RE: Nathan Prickett #F.A.G. # 16860210
Hi Larry,

Glad it is sorted out and that I could be of help. I am a direct descendant of the Prickett's, starting at my 3rd great grandmother Sarah Prickett. My 5th great grandfather Henry Prickett was uncle to Nathan. I have my tree out as far as John too. I am actually twice related through Capt. Jacob Prickett. His son John who married Elizabeth Hays is my 6th great grandfather and his son Josiah who married Charity Taylor is my 7th great grandfather. So I guess that would make Capt. Jacob my 7th & 8th great grandfather. And your daughter in-law my cousin. :-)

Thanks, Erin

RE: Nathan Prickett #F.A.G. # 16860210

I sent you a link to my source in my last message. Her source was the DAR who transcribed the cemetery in the 1940's and her own confirmation. It was my experience updating the cemetery that this source was spot on.

The death age is also listed on the notes in the original memorial that was transferred to you by Night Angel.

I am not sure which family tree you are using that you deem a credible source, there are 50 of them and they alternate between 16 Mar 1819 and 15 Nov 1819, about a 50/50 split and the tree you are copying could have picked any one of the alternates as a source. I don't use ancestry trees as a source in my own work because of this same indecisiveness and down right messes I come across on a daily basis.

I've given you the facts, with the b-day you have chosen, his age at death would be 55 years, 0 months and 29 days. Calculating thousand of these tombstones for find a grave I can tell you with certainty that our pioneer ancestors didn't ever list the 0 months, it would have been 55 years, 29 days if that was the case, which in this it is not.

thanks, Erin

RE: Nathan Prickett #F.A.G. # 16860210
Hi Larry,

Sorry, I do not have a photo. I did the birthdate calculation using a tombstone b-day calculator. Records shows Nathan Prickett died Sept 14, 1874, aged 55 years, 5 months, 29 days, which makes hi b-day 16 Mar 1819.

you might find this description of someone's trip out there of interest. it might be why a stone was never photographed.

I went through and calculated b-days for the majority of the cemetery. I am related to the Prickett's and I was finding it frustrating that the birthdates on this cemetery were nonexistent when I was trying to sort out family relations, so once I finished the Prickett's I also did everyone else.

Sorry I cant be of more help.

thanks, Erin
