Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired Navy Command Master Chief with 22 years of Service including 2 tours in-country Vietnam and 1 in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Most of my career was in helicopter Search & Rescue.
I was attached to Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three, HA(L)-3, in Vietnam 1970-1972, and NAS Whidbey Island SAR 1974-1977 & 1980-1984, among other duty stations, and have been trying to track down the rest of the guys who were there. Unfortunately, I find way too many of them with this "Find A Grave" search feature.

Any photos I take for Find A Grave, I do not claim as exclusive or copyrighted and anyone can copy and use the photos for whatever purpose you desire except to "Photoshop" in such a way as to slander or disrespect. Dan

RE: Robert Dale Ponsler
Just looked at the photo. See what you mean. It looks like a 19 but is actually a bleep in my "retouching" the photo which I missed. Sometimes when I have that little "circle" to edit it copies when I click on grass & black spots on the stone to try to make it nicer. I missed trying to get rid of that one.

Hello Dan,
I have accepted your Edit and placed a note at the beginning of the bio that you provided the Edit for Lavon's birth place and included your member number. Thank you for your information.

RE: Lavon Glenn, 150264942
Hello Dan,
Thank you for replying.

I found a Washington Marriage record between Lavon W. Glenn and Hazel M. Davis that gave the full birth date for both of them. I still don't know where Hazel was born. The marriage record lists Hazael's last name as Davis, but in 1966, this is more likely the name from a previous marriage than her maiden name, as she was about age 50 for this marriage. When she married Marvin Wilson, in 1979, his obituary listed her as Hazel Glenn.

I believe Lavon was probably born in Adams County, Washington, the name of the town is still questionable without documentation. If your Edit is changed to just show the County, I would feel better about accepting the Edit. Or, I can just put a note on the memorial page that the birth place was provided by you. I've added some bio information on Lavon's memorial page.

Please let me know if you want to change the Edit or have me add the note that the birth place information was provided by you.

Lavon Glenn, 150264942
Hello Dan,
You sent some Edits to me regarding Lavon Glenn. I wasn't able to find the actual birthplace for Lavon, other than the State of Washington. It seems likely he was born in Washtucna, Adams County, Washington, based on his parents lived there in both 1910 and 1920, and his father was a farmer.

Are you a family member and, if so, how are you related? What documentation do you have regarding Lavon's birthplace?

RE: 4th Cousins
I have a John Thomas that was Amos G.'s brother born in Missouri 1847 but no death information. My Great Grandpa Jacob was born around Milton,IL. If they all stayed close maybe a cemetery around there. Sorry I can't help.

RE: 4th Cousins
I don't know that but Jacob was in Black Oak Cemetery and so was his wife and grandson. Could be more of their family was there as well. Martinsburg is where he died.Petty Highland Cemetery might be south of Summer Hill. My niece might know. There was more than one Petty Cemetery, one on a high ridge around Rockport/New Canton that is said to be impossible to get up to. I'm pretty sure there is one on the backside of Summer Hill. I'll ask tomorrow.

RE: 4th Cousins
Grandma and her siblings all ended up in Louisiana, MO which is in Pike County MO. I live in Pike County, IL so not quite as confusing maybe knowing parts of both counties.

Thomas J. is buried in Petty Highland Cemetary in Martinsburg, IL. I haven't looked there, got it from one of the other family trees on Ancestry. If you have Ancestry my tree is the Blacketer tree. I have Blacketer, Robinson,Eveland, Elliott,Reap and several other family member names.
