Bio and Links
Born, raised, and live in the Piney Community of Adair County, OK. My famiy has been here since the mid 1850's, settling in Goingsnake District. Family includes Williams, Akins, West, Adair, Keeter, and many more! I freelance for the Stilwell Democrat Journal and Westville Reporter so I always have a camera handy. I have been married to Ernie Workman since 1973 and I have two grown children. I attended grade school in the now extinct Piney school, and I graduated from Stilwell High School and Draughon School of Business in Tulsa.

EDITS
In case you were wondering, the source on those edits I have put in (mainly plot numbers) -- is the book "Our People And Where They Rest: A Visit to 104 Old Cemeteries in Eastern Oklahoma," James W. Tyner, Maxine Tyner and Alice Tyner Timmons, American Indian Institute, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. 1970-1985, (Library of Congress No. QE99-C5-T97) There wasn't a place for me to put that in the edit form.

Thanks for all your help! Best wishes.

RE: O'Bryant Cemetery, Adair Co, OK
Thank you. I only found one fieldstone and it is close to Duncan's. Of course, I don't know where his monument was originally. There are indeed probably some more that we can't see.

I appreciate your knowledge on it. Cool that you got to see other stones when you were young. If you think of some more items I could add to the writeup on it, let me know.

transferral
I was wondering if you wanted some of my memorials transferred over to you. I am getting out so I thought you might want some of the Winklers.

RE: Starr Allotment
Hey Ellen,
Sorry it has took me so long. I really don't have an idea where that is located. I live in Dahlonega, Georgia and Benjamin Cooper (is an ancestor of mine who apparently migrated to Oklahoma. His grandson who I descend from decided to stay in Georgia. Hope the weather is better out there it is hot here but not 106.

Thanks,

Brian
