We would be glad to help you with adding information, but |
YOU NEED TO USE THE EDIT TAB.
Due to the number of emails that we receive, we reserve the right to not respond to those who do not USE THE EDIT TAB per FAG guidelines. We do not add information from "Visitors" to FAG.
Per FAG policy, we have 30 days to make a correction/addition. Apparently the edits are not always linked with an email, but sit in the FAG edit file awaiting discovery. We try very hard to take care of these requests promptly.
TRANSFERS & CORRECTIONS-----Please follow the Find A Grave Guidelines for transfers and corrections and specify the relationship. "Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren." Please use a Virtual Cemetery to collect your non-direct ancestors or special populations.
If you feel that you are somehow 'entitled' to our copyrighted work and pictures, do not be surprised that you will be held accountable. Each and every photo on this website is the copyrighted material of the person who took the photo (some may have been passed down or have been granted permission to post/use a photo) and usually posted it. Permission is usually granted when requested. This is not about sharing. The photos and pics are in fact, shared on this site. It is about the common courtesy to those that spend time, effort and money all at their own personal expense to help preserve American history.
We have met many wonderful people through FAG. Unfortunately, there have been a number of individuals who have been rude, who have not understood that we are volunteers, who have been otherwise abusive or who have been frankly bizarre and/or threatening. To that end, we will follow the FAG guidelines. It is about the hunt, not the numbers. But dealing with some of the FAG members and interlopers, we have learned to follow the guidelines.
Our family names/linages include:
ADAMS, BEHEN, BELL, BENNETTS, BICKERTON, BLYTHE, BULLOCK, BUTLER, CALLISON, CHAMNESS [CHAMLESS], COLEMAN, COCKRELL, CORDER, COONTZ, CROSS, DAVIS, DAY, DOUGHERTY, DUDLEY, DUNLIN, DUNN, FEASTER, FEHAN, GENTRY, GROSE, HENINGER, HUNGERFORD, JOHNSON, LAWRIE, LEMMONS, LORD, MARSHALL, MAXEY [MAXCY], MCCOWN, MONTGOMERY, MURRAY, NEEHAN, OVERTON, PRESLEY, RUTHVEN, SMOOT, SPLAWN, STANSBURY, [TATHAM, TATEM, TATUM], TAYLOR, TERRELL, THURMAN, TIPTON, WARD, WATERS, WEBSTER, WEINWRIGHT, VOTAW, WINSTON, WOOD, YOUNG AND ETC. THIS IS THE SHORT LIST.
We have been working on family genealogy for about 35 years. We have a great number of documents that were passed down the family lines.

Sorry Cathy and Thomas that I am late in getting back to you. I had sent a response before and it got kicked back, so I am trying again.
Yes, you can use the picture of my grandfather.
How are you related? I like meeting new realtives!
Sorry to have offended you by requesting my grandmother be linked with her mother in "the wrong way." You explicitly say in your bio: "We would be glad to help you with adding information, but YOU NEED TO USE THE EDIT TAB." Which is what I did. Thank you for adding the link anyway. Have a blessed day.

Cathy and Thomas,
Thank you very much for the update on Grady Earl Jones' name. He was my uncle. His son Jerry Earl Jones and I appreciate your work on his behalf. As soon as I can get someone over to my house to do whatever it is you're supposed to do on the computer, I'll get the cleaned up tombstone picture to you.
Grady wished to have part of his ashes buried at the foot of his Mother, Marlin Jones'
grave. The rest were scattered over his farm in Arkansas by his son Jerry.

***The Maxey's of Virginia. A Genealogical History of the Descendants of Edward and Susannah Maxey. Third Edition by Edythe Maxey Clark. Gateway Press, Inc. Baltimore 2000.
You may be able to look this up on Google. Google has online books (papers) that can be downloaded.
My gradmother was a daughter of Henry Garrett Thurman and Margerate Carolyn Maxey. She (Etta) married a Chamness, a descendant of Anthony and Sarah Chamness of Cane Creek Meeting, Snow Camp, NC. The Maxey's owned a great amount of land west of Richland, VA.****
