Sadly yes. This is the common area of single graves for people who do not have family lots or were too poor to afford to be buried in the main part of the cemetery.

Thanks for the heads up, Kristin. I spent much of the morning looking for the right George & Mary to add to the Bio. I've made the changes and linked her to Mary [Rooney] Keene in Valhalla.
I couldn't find the right George and Mary anywhere after 1910 Census. Seems a divorced Grace and her parents were boarding with sister Lucy [Keene] Hodapp and her family then.

If you know anything else to add to Grace's Memorial,(town/city of birth/death or Marriage Record information), let me know. My primary interest in this was Edward Prass, who was my G-Grandfather's 1st Cousin.

I don't own Grace's memorial. You need to contact them to make changes.
Ellen did not find record on George. Keene could be mis-spelled

Thank for the photo.

It is very small with a lot of unreadable stones. As I am a newbe, was my first try, I'll do some research as time permits and try again.

Not a problem, I wish I could have provided you with a picture. I was disappointed to see that only 10 or so stones actually had names on them. All stones in this cemetery that actually have a name have a picture on this site now. If you contact the folks that operate the cemetery they may have a map which will show where the soldiers are buried (if they know at all where they are buried) and if they do I will go take a photo of his headstone.
|Toni Turk||RE: Pvt. Henry David|
I'll make the date correction, but unless there is a record of his burial elsewhere, I think it appropriate to leave him in the Confederate Cemetery. The Confederate dead were gathered from all over the region and reinterred about 1871 in the Confederate Cemetery in Fayetteville.
