Bio Photo Updated October 18, 2016

Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (ALNC)
, Elwood, Will Co., Illinois...

The following lists the active burial sections at ALNC. These sections were opened for interments on the dates listed...

Active section(s) for Cremated Remains:
1) Section 12, opened October 2012
2) Columbarium 7 Wall 24, opened October 2016

Active section(s) for Casketed Remains:
1) Section 16, opened November 2015

When the above gravesites are made presentable with sod and engraved marker stones or niche covers, I'll upload gravesite photographs for these Sections without the need for photo requests.

Note: Please refrain from requesting a photograph until after the professional grounds-keepers have had time to engrave and install marker stones (or niche covers), lay sod, and generally make the gravesites presentable. If I have not uploaded a photo by the 4-month mark, please do request a photo.

Thank you for your patience.

Read This BEFORE Uploading Photos...

I shouldn't have to ask, however, with the rapid proliferation of reckless "cell-phone photography" it has become necessary for me put in text what I think should be obvious...

Please do NOT upload gravesite photographs if they...
1) were taken at an impossible angle, or
2) show bird poop on the stone, or
3) have spiders, other insects in the frame, or
4) have grass clippings, mud or debris on the stone, or
5) have your shadow/reflection or kids or your car in the frame, or
6) show the stone is wet from sprinklers or has raindrops or other wet spots on the stone, or
7) have people, pets or other crap in the background, or
8) have flowers or other debris blocking or making it difficult to read the ENTIRE engraved text, or
9) show the gravesite in any other "not ready for primetime" condition (for example: dead or rotting cut-flowers, open pit, plywood covers, shovels, other tools or construction equipment or the groundkeepers or other workers in the frame), or
10) were taken upside-down and then rotated right-side-up without correcting the perspective. These photos make people nauseous and give them a feeling of falling while looking at the picture!

In short, take pride in your work! Don't place a gravesite photo on one of my memorial pages that you would NOT be proud to show your family if you had placed it on one of your own relative's memorial pages.

Thank you for your consideration. I'm sure that the families of the deceased appreciate your consideration, also.

Information - where it belongs...

Biographical information belongs in the "bio" field or in other text fields on the MAIN memorial page.

Please do NOT post pictures of text to any of my memorial pages (Example: Do NOT post pictures of; obituaries, death notices, news paper articles, death certificates, remembrance cards, etc.).

Also, do NOT post biographical information in the Flowers section. This too, belongs in the appropriate text fields on the main page.

Forward the information using the "Edit" tab and appropriate link. I'll ensure it is added to the memorial page in a prompt, accurate and professional manner.

Do NOT post non-photograph graphics to the photo section (such as military emblems, membership emblems, flags, candles, etc). These types of graphics waste the 5 free "photo" slots provided by

Family members should NOT have to sponsor a memorial page (cost $5.00) in order to upload a favorite picture simply because someone uploaded a non-photograph graphic or a picture of text to the photos section of the memorial page.

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This does not include Cousins, Aunts or Uncles. Nor does it include your neighbor or BFF.

You need not ask for a transfer if your "Contributions to Find A Grave" on your profile page shows an insignificant effort at "Pay-it-forward."

"The goal at Find A Grave should NOT be to manage all of your family members. If you have information to add, you should suggest it to the current manager and they should make the changes."

My Photos...

Please respect my photographs, they are for your personal use only. Do NOT attempt to sell them, or otherwise attempt to profit from their use without written permission.

For example: Do NOT charge your relatives a "handling fee" or "re-imbursement fee" or "printing fee" to obtain a copy of your family tree if it contains one of my photographs.

In summary, do NOT take credit for any photograph that you did not physically take yourself.

About me...

I graduated from Freeport Area High School, PA in 1971 and spent the next year at a technical college in Columbus, OH.

I received my physical notice from the draft board in the spring of 1972 and in August that year I followed in my father's foot steps, joining the US Navy (he put in 24 years before retiring as a CTCM in 1969). I spent 8 years as a submarine qualified nuclear electrician on both Fast Attack and Ballistic Missile Submarines. In October 1980 I was honorably discharged as an EM1(SS).

I spent the next 28 years working in the civilian nuclear power industry in both Ohio and Illinois. Most of that time in the training department as a Senior Reactor Operator License Training Instructor for both Intitial and Continuing training students.

I retired in August of 2008 after 36 years working in the nuclear power field.

Currently, I am still retired and live in north-central Illinois, within 2 miles of the intersection of I-80 and I-55.

I enjoy researching my family tree (9,000+ and growing). My father's family is from Allegheny and Armstrong counties in western Pennsylvania. My mother's family is from Charles County, in southern Maryland.

My family has limbs, branches, and roots that stretch across the United States. Most however, settled in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and California.

I enjoy taking cemetery, historical site, and other photographs. I am willing to assist with reasonable gravesite and non-gravesite photo requests; I will also consider the unreasonable requests.

Raymond Mutz #133903032
Hi there,

I know I could have just suggested a change for this memorials parents, but just wanted to leave a quick message on why I am suggesting so. I believe the person who created the memorials currently listed as the parents is incorrect on who they are. I believe that they are in fact Joseph & Anna (Gregorash) Mutz, while I have found the actual Joseph & Anna (Solontay) in a different cemetery. The memorials I have created are #171159028
and #171159081. Multiple records I have pulled up both from family trees, census records and social security records support this ( I can send if you want to see for yourself.)

I think some confusion came that both families have a son named Raymond Mutz. Your Raymond goes with the Solontay family while the older (89144425) one goes with the Gregorash family.

Thanks for your time,

Erica Rudie

Is there any way you can block this niche from public view? The reason is his niche has been damaged my a person or persons that found because of the site. I have taken down my site for that reason. Please help me out. I'm a grieving wife (widow)
Thank you

I am writing to check on my sister Karen. You have her buried in the Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood. This is correct as far as we know. I have been to the cemetery to visit Bill and Karen.

Another sister found another memorial for what appears to be Karen in the wrong place. We were not able to accompany Karen's body to the cemetery, we tried but couldn't. The cemetery said they couldn't take her the day of the funeral mass. The funeral director would not tell us when they were taking her. So now we are trying to confirm where she is.

My sister is very upset with all of this. I am reaching out to the other person as well. Can you give me any information on where you got your info.

Most sincerely,

You may want to delete listing #72360354, as it already existed several years before as #12665059.

RE: Thank you
Mr Dannels was the father of a childhood friend who was an Eagle Boy Scout. I did not know him well, but his kids were the best.
