Bio and Links
Bio Photo Along with my father, I have been researching our family history for several years. With the times we live in, we need to look back at our heritage and remember the courageous people who are the reason we are here. So many sacrifices so we can live in the US. Our military have made our country a great place, but they are not the only ones to have sacrificed. The early Americans left everything they knew to begin a new life for themselves and their families. They may not have been able to see far enough to realize who we would be today. But it is certainly fitting for us to look back and see who they were and why they did what they did. That is what our story is all about.**I have found some messages in my spam box. Done. I am proud to do this. Charles was a very special person. He and Lawrence were my classmates at Blanche.

Sorry for the mistake, what I meant to say was Margaret Cock Longshore Jenner. Linda

RE: Thanks
Thank you so much for the information about the Gloria Dei Church in Southern Philadelphia, PA, Tammy. In July 2011 my husband and I went to Pennsylvania on a genealogical research trip and we visited the Gloria Dei Church, it is beautiful! I also wrote a book in 2011 about my ancestors beginning with my 8th great-grandparents Peter Cock, his wife Margaret Lom, her parents and my 9th great-grandparents Mans Svensson Lom and Margaret Stilles. Are you related to Margaret Lom Cock Jenner? Linda Lamb Monticelli

RE: Silas Adams
Thanks again for all you do. I would be honored to keep that memorial simply because I am a direct descendant. I understand your concern about the date and I am not sure who put up the stone, although it I should it has been done in my lifetime. Everything I have been able to find though indicates a birthdate closer to 1809.

Again thanks for the work you have done on the Black Creek Cemetery. Like I have said before it holds a special place for me because I have a lot of family history there. I have just been trying to add a little bit of my own knowledge, knowledge I have gathered as a descendant of many of these people.

Gothard Plot in Pinal Cemetery
Very possible that it is a different Gothard. Sorry we looked and didn't find any name headstones in this plot.

Gothard Plot in Pinal Cemetery
We didn't come across George Gothard specifically.
We did however find a Family Plot that says Gothard on the main headstone in the center on the plot.
There are no other names in this large family plot.
Would you like me to post those?

RE: John McCollum
You are most welcome. On the portion of the headstone that is leaning, propped up, you can see that it says John McCollum by shining a small flashlight to the under side. Where it is broken is right across the date born, or at least I think that is what it says. I would like to get permission from who or where ever I need and have them lean the stone back or down so that I can get a picture of that. The portion laying flat appears to be tight to the ground where it would have to be somewhat dug out. Not sure if that is the right word to use, it is not deep just secure.

RE: Mamron Stephens
Okay - its's weird because now she is showing up under M.G. Stephens as a child. I don't think we met at a funeral in the past. Where do you live now? My sister still lives in Pell City so I go back up (from Pensacola) every few months or so. Would love to meet up sometime.
