Could this possibly be the same person as Charles Edward Bliven (#120548222)?

Thank you for that newspaper clipping. It was very interesting and I have added to her memorial. Chris

Joseph Walter Ahlstrom
Hi,

Thank you for transcribing the article you located regarding Joseph Walter Ahlstrom's death and sharing it with me. I have the same articles (several were written while searching for him). Although I do share the articles in the family history and on our family trees on Ancestry.com, because in that format it is also possible to see the facts and photos of his whole life in order to put it in perspective; due to the nature of his death and what lead up to it, I have chosen not to memorialize him that way here on Find A Grave. It is a limited view of his death, not his life. He did much good in his life and I choose not to honor him in this limited forum in a way I (and most people) would not like to be remembered. I'm sure others researching him will find this same information from other sources where they can also see a more broad view of the life he lived.

Blessings,
Annie :)

I notice that you have added memorials to Cemeteries in Coachella Valley & McHenry County, IL. I grew up in McHenry and now live here in LaQuinta. I have been at the Coachella Valley Cemetery taking pictures and adding them to Find A Grave.

Sure! That would be great! I have one more sibling to get and this generation will be complete! (too proud to "request" it!")

Thanks!

RE: Re: J. W. Culbreth Memorial # 74452698
Yep! He is the son of Thomas Culbreth and Ann Peabody (my great great great grandparents), buried in my family's cemetery.

His brothers are: William Kemp (my ancestor), John Thomas, Charles Peabody, and Malcolm Nathaniel; and one sister, Lucy.

I am the current custodian of a tree maintained since the 1930's and 1940's, therefore 99.99% confident the J is for Joseph.

I'll be checking out the cemetery while I'm home for Christmas, after applying an algae treatment to the stones over Thanksgiving!

Thanks for checking and graving!... I am new to Findagrave and excited to help!

RE: Paul Rauscher # 130217504
Thanks very much for your help. The story my grandmother told was that my great-uncle didn't know or barely knew Mr. Olson. They were patrons at a bar after work where Mr. Olson told of recently getting a new car; then asked my uncle if he would like to have a ride. They left the bar on a drive and went off the road, hitting one of the few trees in the area. A sad ending for two young men's lives. Their death records indicate they lived about 1.5 miles apart in Waukegan. Paul Rauscher was an engineer employed by the City of Waukegan. He graduated in 1928 from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Very nice that we can remember him 79 years after his death. Regards, Jim
