These request have been on quite awhile now, why don't you call the cemetery to find their location and if they have stones?

RE: William McKenzie
Hi Cindy,

I too have been seeking information on William as I haven't been able to find him in the DAR online; however, with that being said, I have found information from the former Westport Historian, Betty White, that William was indeed a Revolutionary War Sergeant in the 14th Regiment; he was also taken prisoner at Crown Point.
If you know anything about the Revolutionary War, one of the first main battles in late 1775 was the "Battle of Quebec", which was a decisive British victory.
Going on the clue of 14th regiment, I am thinking he was in the Continental Army. He could've been part of Morgan's Riflemen or under the command of Benedict Arnold (yes, he was a Colonel before deemed a traitor). About 300-400 men were taken prisoner and remained so until January 1777. William married Deborah Towner in 1782 in Quebec.
Anyway, I am waiting to hear from the Champlain Chapter of the DAR as this information is supposed to be in their books.
When I receive information from Westport's current historian I will let you know.

Are you a descendant of the McKenzie's?

I got an email from Wayne Dystra who took a picture of this person and it is shown on the link I added here. See if this is the correct person before I try to find a different one. I gave him your information because he thought I was the one who wanted the picture. Jeanne

RE: Willard Prentice
Cindy,
No, I am not related. The information I posted is based on burial records and information from census's and Ancestory.com.
The following is what is posted on Ancestory.com concerning Willards ancestry:
Willard Prentice> John Prentice (28 Feb 1780-1850)> Nathaniel Prentice (24 my 1745- 24 May 1817)>Elihu Prentice (20 Jul 1712-21 jAN 1773)> Joseph Prentice(4 fEB 1676-1732)> John Prentice 6 Aug 162-21 Mar 1715). There is a Nathaniel Prentice that served during the revolution.
