Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm happy to transfer memorials to relatives upon request - please make sure you send your F-a-G number with your request.

If you have a correction, additional information or an obituary or bio, send it along and I'll add it to the memorial.

If you have a complaint, be nice and I'll address it as soon as humanly possible.

I ADHERE TO FAG POLICY ON TRANSFERS: Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer.

NOTE: I have no relationship to 99.99% of the memorials I create -- if you are related, let me know and ask for a transfer - I'll be happy to do so.

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT POST EDITS ON THIS PAGE. IF YOU HAVE AN EDIT YOU'D LIKE ON A MEMORIAL, USE THE EDIT TAB WITHIN THE MEMORIAL. AS OF 7/1/2013, I WILL DELETE ANY MESSAGES HERE REQUESTING EDITS OR TRANSFERS. SEND YOUR EDIT REQUESTS THROUGH THE INDIVIDUAL MEMORIAL IF YOU WANT IT DONE.

RE: Officer Graveyard
This is very hard to find. Take Hwy. 84 out of Monterey (Livingston Hwy.) and then right on Rock Springs Church Rd. You pass the church and in a ways it splits, take the lower fork. There is a gated farm road you go thru and continue thru it - it's probably 1/2 mile with way deep ruts and wash-outs but eventually opens into a bench field and the cemetery is up there on the right. If the leaves are down you can see the roof of the Officer house in the distance below. This is also called the Conley-Officer Cemetery and is right near the Putnam/Overton county line. To make matters worse I think the road off 84 is called different names depending on which county you're in. Sorry I can't be more specific, I've been there twice and got lost the second time.

RE: Eck Davis Cemetery, Overton Cty, TN
Hello - The coordinates for the Eck Davis cemetery are: 36.434648, -85.187251

It is down an unmarked lane that splits off of Gib Young Lane. You'll turn on to Gib Young Lane from Dogwalk Road, and when the road forks, you'll stay to the left. It goes down a hill and ends at a gate to a cow pasture. It is on private property, within the cow pasture in a small gated area. It is well kept, but there is no sign listing the name of the cemetery. I've heard some of my relatives refer to it as the McDonald Cemetery instead of the Eck Davis Cemetery as well.

The gate to the cow pasture has been open a couple of times that we've gone, but it was closed once when the cows were out. If you take the right fork in the road when it splits instead of the left, you'll come to a small house on your left just past the fork. If you talk to the people who live there, they will likely tell you that it is fine to go on down to the cemetery, and if the cows are out, to just shut the gate behind you to keep them from getting out.

I hope that helps!

James Eldon Phifer
James Eldon Phifer ( Jimmy ) was my husband's baby brother, who died only 38 days after he was born. We have a copy of his death certificate and know that he was buried in the Crossville City Cemetery in Crossville, Tennessee, but we have never been able to locate his gravesite.

We were told that he was probably buried in " Baby Land," a section with many infant graves, some marked and some unmarked. This has caused my husband much grief and we would like to be able to place a proper headstone on his grave.

If anyone can assist us in this search, we would really appreciate it.

Thank you, Gordon and Marian Phifer

Larry Moore
Larry has died?! He was of so much help with genealogy in Jackson County. Could you tell me where he was buried so that I can leave a message?

Thank you very much for transferring my mother-in-law's memorial to my son and I. We are shocked to hear about Larry Moore's passing and remember him well. He was always very kind to us and helped us however he could. He will be missed.

Larry Moore
That made me cry. I only knew Larry thru e-mails, but he was so generous with helping me. He would tell me about his driving and his sisters and their mowing. As soon as I thanked him for adding my husbands memorial, he offered a transfer, but I was not ready then and later when I was, he transferred it immediately. I had not really been that active on Find a Grave, but he helped by giving me step by step instructions and that was my start at being much more active. He drove thru the Tennessee County that I grew up in and added many people that I knew the families and often the person. I never ask for many transfers, but when I did and told him the reason, I had it the next day or sooner. Wish I could have known him in person. Thank you for adding the memorial. Marjorie

RE: Wirmingham Cemetery
oh, no. I hadn't heard about Larry Moore. That is sad. I didn't know him personally, but had heard good things. I did a session on grave dowsing at the Genealogy Bonanza in Livingston on Friday. Then we went out and dowsed Capps/Goodpasture cemetery which only has 9 or so heastones but around 15 to 20 more unmarked burials. When the dowsing was finished, the lady who has the original plot map from decades ago pulled it out and we compared. The burials found through dowsing were very closely lined with the ones on the map!
