|Bob Law||IOOF and Helm burials|
Pam: Finally after a lot of work I have figured out the mystery about the IOOF and Masonic Cemeteries in Metropolis. I am glad you didn't move the memorials you had for the family of Douglas Wymore to the Masonic like I asked you to. I talked with the funeral home in Metropolis and they tell me that the early IOOF which is called IOOF Chosen Friends is actually just beside the Masonic on the left. The funeral home lists burials as being in Masonic becuase if they listed IOOF people would think it is the IOOF cemetery that is down the road on the other side. So Douglas Wymore and his children are buried in IOOF Chosen Friends. I guerss you knew that all along, I just didn't understand and wanted all of my memorials to be in the correct cemetery.

Pam: I have finally found where the Helm family of Metropolis, ILL are buried. They are all in the Masonic Cemetery and NOT in the IOOF. I have changed the location of the graves that I have control of to the correct cemetery. This is my direct family, I came to the 100 birthday for Verna and have been to Metropolis several times. If you got the IOOF location from my book on Moses Helm that was incorrect information. I think that Verna gave me the informaton of the location of her family but she was in her 90's when she gave me this informaiton and possibly she was just confused. Would you please transfer the children of Douglas Wymore to me so that I could put them in the correct location? The children are: Claudius 38339958, Clarice 38339869, Lloyd 38339292 and the wife Mary Ann 38463217. Thank you very much.

Pam: I have entered Douglas Wymore and his wife Mary Ann Helm in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Metropolis along with some of their children. I was told by a family member this is where they are buried but recently I was told they are in Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis.I would like to get this corrected and them in the correct cemetery. Can you tell me if they are in the I.O.O.F. or Masonic cemetery? Thanks

Was Richard Clark a relative of yours? Or is that just a coincidence?

Hi Pam, while doing some research on the Windhorst family in my tree I came across the FindAGrave page you created for Elizabeth Windhorst buried in Round Spring Cemetery in Massac County, IL. I am curious to find out if this is the mother of my 2nd Great Grandmother, Anna Sophia Windhorst Hight, who is also buried in Round Spring Cemetery. I see you have Windhorst as her maiden name which is the name on her headstone of which I also have a picture that I took the last time I visited the cemetery. I believe the name on her headstone would actually be her married name not her maiden name don't you think? Where did you find out that her maiden name was Leukering? Thanks a ton for any help you can give!

Would love to see their pictures. Do you have a tree on Ancestry? Hewette's come into my family through marriage with the Sutter's in AZ.
