Albert Ledoux
RE: Other Benton family members' gravestone photos
Among my Ledouxs, two brothers left Quebec ca. 1820 and went trapping on the headwaters of the Platte River. The two eventually settled at Taos, NM, where they married local Spanish-speaking women, and of course made lots of kids. One of them lost his son however to Sioux raiders while they were still in Nebraska - which is how my distant Ledoux Sioux cousins came to be. Another 19th century settler in MN married a Chippewa woman and had a bunch of offspring. The most exotic example, in my opinion anyway, was the Ledoux from NH who served in the Spanish-American War, was later posted to American Samoa, and became the ancestor of some very tall Polynesian folks.

You're right that after you catch this particular "virus," there's no getting rid of it!

You surely may!

With a name like Fleury, I assume the family originated in Quebec. Since all French-Canadian lines cross at some point, that would make us cousins eventually.

You're more than welcomed to download the picture. That's why it's there for family to copy what ever is on the memorial....
