RE: Memorial # 36524463 - Nancy Lane Poe
Hi,
I was wondering what info you have for the children that you have listed for Nancy and James; I can not find an 1880 census that actually shows them as them belonging to Nancy and James. I was also wondering what info you have that James lived until 1889. The only child that I can connect with them is Cyrus. Also, what info do you have that Nancy was the sister of J O Lane?

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Ann,

Thanks for the kind offer of a transfer, but she is no kin. We are just transcribing old area obits to help preserve the history and maybe help other researchers along the way.

L. Irwin
Thomas Irwin (buried in Central City NE)
Hello Ann,
Do you know if this is the Thomas R. Irwin who was the father of John Henry Irwin who married Mary Katherine _________? John Henry was born in Ireland, immigrated in 1850 at the age of 5 and married Mary Katherine (born in Illinois in 1859). John Henry is my great grandfather, father of John Francis Irwin (my grandfather) who was born in Lone Tree (Central City NE). I am trying to determine who John Henry's parents were as well as the maiden name of Mary Katherine. Both of them left Nebraska and settled in Halfway, Oregon where they died and are buried in Pine Haven Cemetery. If you can shed any light on this I would greatly appreciate it. I have visited the grave of Thomas Irwin that you photographed but can't yet connect him to my family though I am sure he must be a relative and possibly the father of John Henry Irwin. Thanks so much for any help.

Thank you so much for the taking the picture! I traveled with my grandmother and mother to Central City, back in the 1990's and took pictures (before the digital days) but seem to have lost track of a few of them. I am so appreciative of your efforts.
Thanks again & best wishes!

Re: Clyde Wolfe
Yes, I think the Wolfe w/ an "e" is the spelling they used the most.

Thanks for updating the info.

RE: Mary Porter, Burke Cemetery, Merrick County, NE
Thank you so much! I was fortunate enough to visit the Burke Cemetery back in 1992, while my grandmother was still alive. I took lots of notes but not as many pictures as I would like to have, now. She was able to give me additional little tidbits about all the family buried there, though.
Thank you again for taking special care of Mary Porter's marker.
