I think of myself as a family historian. I love family stories and the genealogy that goes with them.
I am extremely grateful to those who take careful photos and share them generously with others. Preserving tombstones and recording them honors those who paved the way for us.
My major research follows family lines of Magnus, Greathouse, Seitz, Aley, McMullin/McMulin, Trescott and related lines. Also Huckleberry and Walker.

Johnson/Franklin Line
Hi Lynn, I noticed you manage this Johnson/Franklin line. Are you related to either one? Thanks.

RE: Raymond Neal and Opal Lucile Greathouse
Thanks,Lynn, for the information. That solves one of my mysteries. I am the granddaughter of Myrtle Withrow Bradshaw, a sister to Mabel. Myrtle and Roy lived up/down the road from Uncle Walter and Aunt Mabel. I guess I didn't know that Walter was married, before he and Mabel married. So that's new information for me. I used to walk from the old Withrow farm where Myrtle and Roy lived to Aunt Mabel's. Loved them both so much. I remember when Walter died, I was broken hearted. Lloyd Bradshaw was Myrtle's only child, and he was my father. My mother was a child of W.M. and Daisy Purcell in Anson. Thanks again for your help with my mystery. Loline Bradshaw Sammons

Austin Cemetery
I think you're wrong on where the Austin name came from. I read somewhere -- and I can't find it now -- that the cemetery was originally across the road from its current location. In my feeble mind I thought it was east across the road, on a farm owned by a man named Austin. And that at some point in time the current cemetery location was established and the bodies moved from the original burial site. So now, I've checked the patent records and find that the E/2 NW/4 and W/2 NE/4 of Section 22, which is south across the road and west 1/4 mile was purchased by J. H. Austin. So perhaps the original site was south and west.

The SW/4 Section 14 (where I thought it was) was patented to Richard McMulin 6/14/1875. Another possibility could be that Richard sold the SW/4 Section 14 to this J. H. Austin or someone else named Austin, and the cemetery was on the east side of the road.

There was also a school named Austin School about 3/4 mile south of the cemetery gate so it's possible this Austin bought up or traded land. A trip to the County Clerk's office might have the answers. I'd go look but I'm 2 hours south in Oklahoma City.

Austin Cemetery
I'm going from memory, but I think the current cemetery is in SE SE SE Section 15. And the person who homesteaded SW Section 14 was named Austin, and that is where the first burials occurred. The original cemetery was across the road in Section 14 on Mr Austin's farm -- and at some point in time the bodies were re-interred in the new "Austin" cemetery in Section 15 just west across the section line. Perhaps that is where the Roberts reference to first burial comes from.

Poodle, we are all on the same side, don't worry ;) As long as you keep using the "edit" function it only takes 30 seconds to make the links. I took this cemetery on a long time ago and am glad to help. I always wondered how these people pronounced their name -- are they "Eight" or "Awww-Tee" ???

I made those links. I recognize your McMulin family name from the cemetery. I have lots of Bonham, Noteware & Hutchison relatives there.

Re: Jerome Greathouse
In regards to Jerome Greathouse Memorial# 24280113 and his spouse Ruth.

Yes you may use any of the photos which I may have contributed to a memorial. However if the photo contributor is someone else, then you will have to make a request of them.

Oh, and NO, I am not related.

Lolly.

Albert McMulin's children
Lynn... I have made the links for Bessie Burchinal to her parents and husband. Frances Ate's memorial is managed by Kent Mauk so he is the only one who can link her to her husband and parents. I have tried several times to request that he make links to others in the McMulin family but have received no response.

Braydon
Hello Lynn,

Just read your message. Braydon is not my relative, just a little boy that stole my heart and I wanted him remembered. Thank you for visiting his memorial.

I hope things are going well for you. I know you miss your Dad and I know the adjustment is so hard. I will keep you in my prayers.

I deleted mine since you had submitted them. You have more information. Fred & Clara have already been submitted by another submitter.
Always nice to find family!
