I love exploring and photographing old cemeteries in Maine. I am especially familiar with Androscoggin, Cumberland, Hancock, and York counties. I am a Greater Portland History docent, photographer for Greater Portland Landmarks, a contributor to Friends of Evergreen, and a member of SpiritsAlive.com, the overseers of Eastern Cemetery in Portland, Maine|

Thank you Ben for the pictures of Abraham Dow's grave and cemetery. I've been trying to read the inscription on the bottom of his gravestone. I thought perchance you'd be able to make it out from the original.
I also noticed that poor Abraham's headstone that remains standing, but it looks like there were others buried on both sides of him. What's your make on it?
If there's anything I can do for you down here in DC, NoVA and MD, please let me know.
I belong to the DAR and have access to a huge and incredibly awesome library, not to mention the Nat'l Archives and the LOC.
Again, thanks so much!

Ben, thank you very much for your efforts in "finding" the headstones of Louis and Lorraine Sawyer in the Hillside Cemetery.

Thank-you, I have seen that too. I am pretty sure that is the right one IF they made an incorrect entry on his age and marital status. My Archie should have been around 31 and married on that death notice since he was 27 years old and married on the 1870 census of Cape Elizabeth ME. Do you think they could have put the wrong info on this death notice? It really makes sense that this is MY Archie if they entered it wrong. This 1870 census is the only census I have found him on.

No, feel free! I only claimed the ones I had already found and photographed. I just haven't uploaded the photos yet. Will probably do it this evening.
The only other ones I'd tried to find but we're unable to are the McConnells, in Section Q, I believe. But I was only searching by walking the section; I didn't ask the office for specifics. So I may have just missed them.

Thank you so much for photographing the Marwick graves in Evergreen cemetery. It's probably safe to say Albert Marwick is buried there as well?! I do appreciate your efforts as I'm in Utah and most of my research is in Maine and I just can't get to the East coast to do it myself.
