It all began innocently enough with a comment by my father, who had lost his mother when he was a young child that he had always wondered where his mother was buried. |
After his death, I found myself in possession of a number of books and photos of his family and an interest in finding out about all these people began to take hold. The rest is history, so to speak.
I am a retired payroll professional with a love for history so it just seemed natural for me to expand on that love and delve into my own personal history. I have an extensive and comprehensive family tree on Ancestry.com (The Apple Pan - A Dowdy Family History), but as an extension of that tree, I've begun to add memorials to Find-A-Grave.com, or to expand on memorials established by others.
During the course of a road trip into New Mexico and Texas in 2007, I believe I have found where my father's mother is buried. Now I only wish that my father were still here so that I could share this news with him. One day --

You sent me an email and I did not see your correction on find a grave until after I had sent the message. Was confused because you said son of instead of daughter. No problem just wanted to make sure I had the facts correct, so I will take care of this. Thanks again for the information.

I do not mean to sound rude but, you have requested that I place the following info on George Wade: Son of Christian Christopher Bowen, 1854-1887. Did I miss something on the stone and the memorial need to say Bowen since dad is a Bowen and child is a Bowen. I assumed that George was a lady that had remarried... that's what I get for assuming. Thanks for the information.

I transferred his memorial. I don't normally add genealogy data unless I personally do the research. But figured you probably did and are a relation of his. If you don't want the good fellow, please send him back and I'll watch after him.
After looking at the headstone I see my mistake.
I have changed both names on my memorials. Being they are dated 2010 and the other is 2012, the other should be deleted. You will have to contact the other person.
Thanks for the correction.
Bob is my 1st cousin once removed and I meant to say Horace Adern Rush & Agnes Hill were his great grandparents .
