After the horrendous earthquake in Haiti recently, I decided to read a book I inherited years ago, but had no interest in until now. (The Black Rebellion in Haiti" by Pierre Etienne Chazotte, and edited by his grandson, Charles W. Platt) When I did some research, I learned that Pierre or Peter, is my 4th great grandfather and Charles W. Platt is my great grandmother's brother. In reading the book I learned that Pierre was one of only a couple of white people who were able to escape the massacre of multiple thousands in 1804, partly because he had American citizenship. The unedited version is in the Library of Congress. In my research, I stumbled onto Find a Grave, and discovered that many kind people had made memorials for a number of my ancestors, for which I'm extremely grateful. Some have become friends and are assisting me in further family searches! Thank you all! Especially my friend in Reno!

Sally Fitch Mullet
Hi,

Thanks for the info you sent. There is evidently something wrong with our listing of Sally Fitch Mullet in Pioneer cemetery, as both she and her husband were both buried in Forest Hill shortly after their deaths. I don't know who is buried in Pioneer.

Thank you for posting pics of my ancestors! Will you be back to Maple Hill Cemetery anytime soon? I have a request of my great, great grandfather that I have been hoping someone would find for a LONG time. His name is William Russell Laughlin 1831 - 1902. He is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. Would you be able to help and is there a way I could find out any other Laughlin's that are buried here?

Thanks

RE: McCotter
Yeah. There are thousands of reburials in Greenwood. The data base lists only burial dates which, in most cases going to be the proper month and year, but not always such as in the case of Hannah McCotter

RE: P.S to Madge....
I had looked there when you first posted this and saw all those other articles but nothing about the wedding?

RE: P.S to Madge....
Hi Jan,
Thanks for getting back to me with all those details. I never knew of a 1st Marriage! I've made note of them and will add them to my Tree as confirming certificates turn up.

Thanks for your help and please don't hesitate to ask if I can help you with anything.

Madge Fiederlein
Hi Jan,

OK, I think there must be two names for the same cemetery. I know it as Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. I stood right there and took that photo a couple of years ago.

Yes I did know Madge, she was my grandaunt. She was the wife of John Mario Fiederlein and the mother of Paul Alexander Fiederlein.
If Madge was Johns second wife I don't know that.

So, please tell me how you connect to John?

Do you have a Tree on Ancestry?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi JanMary,

I received the messages you sent. In looking at this it appears she is still living. I will do some more checking but if that is the case the memorial will be deleted. There was a guy who added lots of living people to this cemetery. I've had a lot of them deleted but have not finished doing all of them yet. When they were transferred to me I had no idea most were still living.

Thank you,
Cheryl
