Bio Photo I am obsessed with my genealogy reasearch and do it every chance I get. I am an Instructional Assistant at New Windsor Middle School. I am concentrating on the Myerly family name, but have worked on: Welk, High, Sanner, Biscoe, Hooper, Ecker, and names associated with these families.

Shanks
I have a copy of an obituary for Mrs. Mary Magadalen Shank who was buried in the Keyville Union Church. She was married to John Shank (have not located his obit). If this is the my John and Mary Shank,I am searching for the parents of John. The obit states that she lived with her son, Charles and her husband John had passed. Also, I believe their Charles to be married to a Edith, who is in this cemetery. I need any information from the burial cards and if there are other Shanks buried there not listed in Find A Grave on line. Thank you for your help.

Jacob Knipple #70267679
Gail,
Thank you for posting the memorials & photographs for Jacob KNIPPLE & his family at Keysville Union Cem. It was a great help in researching the Knipple families of Frederick Co., Balt. Co. & Carroll Co. MD. The transfers are much appreciated! We have tried to add info with sources that would help others to do further research. It would be a nice surpise if someone would have some family papers on the Knipple family with additional info.
Thank you!

Steinberg, Franz
Hi Gail, I am fairly new at the genealogy search.
Thank you for all your work in this field. My grandmother Marguerite Elizabeth(Holdorf)Surguy. Her Grandparents were Franz and Willamina Steinberg. Her Aunt was Minnie Martha (Steinberg) Lovett who married Joe Lovett. Her mother was Fredericka (Steinberg)Holdorf who married John George Holdorf. My mother was named Fredericka after her grandmother. I would appreciate any other info you may have on more of the Steinberg family. How are you related to the Steinberg family? My email is lighthouse880@hotmail.com Thank you, Veda

RE: William Trine
Hi Gail,

First, thanks for the information on the Welk's. I've been trying to gather up the members of this regiment.

Now, about William Trine: I have this dilemma each time I try to research the Trine men. They seemed to use various names and I am never certain which one is proper. William's father was christened Emanuel Edwin at the church in Manchester, Maryland but his children all insisted that he was "Edwin Emmanuel."

I was aware that the draft registration listed William as "William Emanuel." He even signed his name that way on this form. However his two sisters (Ada and Vera) and his son Corliss all told me it was "William Edwin." The Trine history in the Carroll Country Historical Society Library also lists him as "William Edwin." In truth I cannot be certain, but I am always interested in getting my facts correct. For now, I think I will make a note on his memorial, and then hopefully I can get more evidence one way or another.

In 2001 I placed a new monument to Samuel Trine in Krider's cemetery,Westminster MD and also restored some of the other ones. Several people told me that I should have used another name beyond Samuel, but they produced no evidence. There seems to be a lot of bad information out there that keeps getting repeated. That is why I am always thankful to get corrections and additions.

You are welcome to use my photos for any non-profit purpose. Thanks for asking. Lots of folks have lifted these photos without permission, and it is nice to know someone has good manners.

How do you fit on the Trine line?

Take Care,

Eddie

Thank you
Dear Gail,
Thank you for responding to my inquiry and yes I would love it if you would transfer anything you have to me. I am at a loss as to where to go from here. But at least I did get a chance to see his headstone. Thank you. God Bless.
