Bio Photo As a youngster Mama, would take me to family cemeteries. In the woods, in pastures, in the middle of nowhere. She would tell me who they were and how we were kin. I didn't realize then that she was expecting me to carry on the stories of our family and of their final resting places. She showed me the graves of her grandmother's first babies. She told me how her grandmother had fretted when it came time to move. "Who will care for the graves?" I didn't understand then what I know now. Time takes its toll on the stones and those in the woods can be lost.
So today I try to record what I can, even those that are not my kin. These stones represent where our loved ones rest.

If I have entered a relative/ancestor/friend of yours and you would like ownership of their memorial, please send a "correction" notice requesting the transfer - it is my pleasure to reunite family.

PHOTOS: I've walked cemeteries for those that haven't yet found them, or cannot walk them for whatever reason. I gladly give permission for the use of these photos for your research.

If I have helped you, I sure would appreciate it if you would leave flowers for my Mama - she loved them so.

Remembering Mama,

Thanks so much...I think this will help people understand a little better...
I know I walked the cem where my Mom is...before her passing and she noted several headstones to me ..I did not have a camera either at the time..

But an Eye witness is as good as a camera!
Thanks very much.

Thanks so much..May I enter this information on my tree about the cemetery.
I think maybe each of the 5 in this cemetery,if you could make note of this on the pages of findagrave...
It sounds like no one at this point could even get to the site..and 40 yrs later, who knows what happened to the headstones...Do you have any photos from the time your Mama took you?

Thanks so much for responding.

Christian Price and His family.
Do you have a record of this family in this cemetery? I asked for a photo and the person came back to me and said she could not find them.

Thank you
Thanks for transferring the members of the Gilbert family memorials to me. I appreciate all of the work you did in posting their information on Find-A-Grave and maintaining their sites. I liked the story you told about your Mamma and I would like to leave some flowers in honor of her.

Thanks again,

Transfer Request

I forgot to mention that I would also like to request a transfer for my grandparents, William C. Gilbert and Lena Cornelia Ruark Gilbert so that I can manage their memorial pages also. They were my mother's parents and I would like to update their pages.

Thank you for everything you do for Find-A-Grave. It is truly a labor of love.

Have a Great Day!

Transfer Request

First, I want to thank you for your hard work and dedication to posting people on Find-A-Grave. It means a lot to be able to find my relatives here. I noticed that you are managing the memorial pages for George W. Gilbert and Laura Ann Gilbert. They are my Great-grandparents on my mother's side. I would appreciate very much if you could transfer them to me so I can update the files.

Are you related to the Gilbert family? If so, let me know how you are connected to them. We may be related. You can e-mail me at

Thank you for all that you are doing.

Roof Family
Thank you for transferring my family members to me. I didn't expect that. I do have information about 2 more, Wade Pickens Roof and Elyard Belton Roof (my great grandfather). There were a couple of children who died, one as a baby and one at age 13. I did not see them listed. I know there are some unmarked graves in the Roof Cemetery. Did you photograph them? Thank you for all of your hard work.
