I've been doing genealogy research for people since 1996. I am county coordinator for the MTGenWeb for Butte-Silver Bow County, Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, and Powell County, Montana. I am also a volunteer at the Butte-Silver Bow Archives.|
I take photos of gravesites I come across while doing Findagrave requests, and I especially like to take photos of the older headstones and markers to create a record of their existence. Many are getting so old they are not very readable. If anyone finds errors with the information I enter, I will be happy to make corrections. I will also be happy to transfer management to relatives of any of those for whom I have created memorials.
However, please do not copy my photos without first obtaining my written permission to do so. Thank you.
PLEASE NOTE: Photos posted to memorials on Find-a-Grave are copyrighted by the member who submitted the photos. Copying the photo to use elsewhere or on other Findagrave memorials (if more than one name is on the headstone) would be a violation of copyright. You must obtain written permission (emails are generally accepted) from the member to use any photo for your own use. In general if you did not take the photo yourself, you do not hold the copyright to the photo.
For anyone needing more information on their relative(s) who are buried in the Butte, I will be happy to do a search.
Requests can be emailed to me at the email address shown below.

What absolutely PERFECT photos! The distance shot with the beautiful surroundings was unexpected, but VERY appreciated! I know you went out of your way to make sure the pictures would be extra meaningful to our family. Thank you so much!
Thank you for taking the picture of my great uncle's grave marker and adding it to his memorial. That was quick! Carolyn

|Kathae Sindel||RE: Michael Hanley|
Thank you for finding Walter and Illeyne Jaap. Can I get plot location.
About Michael Hanley, born 1840 per 1870 Census, Michigan. Early 1870s more children born Gold Hill, Nevada, Census 1875 living Gold Hill, Nevada. 1880 Census wife listed married, but Michael not listed Gold Hill. 1900 Census wife listed Widow had been married 38 years living Butte. (Found marriage record 1861 Michigan) Thought was--that at least by mid 1890s wife and 2 of their children living in Butte.
Wife, Mary McCarthy/Hanley, is not buried with Michael. Mary and daughter Mary Ann Hanley are buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Oakland, CA. (The gravesite you photographed of Hazel and Catherine are daughters and sisters).
Michael is the one I really need to find!! I was contacted by DNA connection about 2 weeks ago by a Hanley. We think that the Michael connection probably brother...but have no parent info.
Appreciate the photos. Thanks again, Kathae
