Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became interested in genealogy when I retired from teaching nursing. So many people helped me along the way in my search for elusive ancestors that I decided to give a little back through Find A Grave. When I am not poking through a cemetery or dusty court house, I enjoy sports (baseball, football and basketball) as an observer, reading (mystery and history), puzzles (especially Sudoku), playing games with my grandchildren, and needlework (all kinds). Some day, when I get to heaven and finally find my ancestors, I plan to ask them why they did not leave a better paper trail. And, if I find a way to add to my genealogy from the other side, I'll definitely do it!

My apologies for not thanking you sooner. I have no excuse other than I am just getting to this email. I appreciate your help in posting this photo. It will assist me with telling my Ross family history. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for the photo. By chance is there a number to the cemetery that I could call to see if they have any further information. I am looking for my great uncle and the info here seems to fit but I'm not sure. If you know of anyway I might find further information please let me know. Again, I so appreciate your photo.

RE: John Hughes
Hi - That would be great. My email address is I can figure this one out then I can work on the next one. Thanks Again. Kelly

FYI - John Hughes and Mary Brophy are My Great Great Grandparents. John Hughes and Catherine Phelan are my Great Grandparents and my Grandfather was William Joseph Hughes who while born in Halifax moved to Moncton, got married and raised his family including my mother, Catherine Mary, now 95. I think you created a memorial for Francis "Frank" J. Hughes. He was the son of John and Mary and died in 1928 not 1923 (easily missed if the gravestone is as weathered as John Hughes!).K

John Hughes
Hi, Thanks so much for the photo. Unfortunately the stone is very weathered and I can't make out the dates - can you see the death information better? I se the name Mary and I am wondering if this is John Hughes' Father John Hughes who married Mary Brophy. The John Hughes that was born in 1863 was married to a Catherine Phelan.I have put the request out for a number of Hughes and Phelans photos at that cemetery. Can you help with what the wording is around the name "Mary' on this photo? Do we have the right John?

RE: James Moore
Not related. Was prowling old archives for another name, and it just caught my eye, so took the opportunity to post it. Thought it might help someone some day. :)

Frank Chlastak grave photo attempt
Hi MV, I noticed that you reported a problem when attempting to take a photo of Frank Chlastak's grave in St. Joseph's cemetery in Yoakum in that you couldn't find it. I noticed in the Victoria Diocese cemetery website that Frank is buried in the same grave as his father Vaclav. Vaclav and his wife Barbara's names are on the marker but it looks as if noone put Frank's name on it. Sorry you spent time looking for this. I appreciate your effort. Beau
