I was born in Brookline Mass daughter of Veneva loretta Partain and George Russell. I have two brothers and have been married twice. I am a retired RN having worked in nursing for 38 years, mostly in Critical Care. I love dogs and currently have a Yorkie/Lhasa named Meili. I live in Eastern NC in a rural area close to the coast. I am very into my families genealogy.|

I came across a picture of J R Partain's tombstone you took. I would like to let you know that James R Partain is actually the son of James C Partain and Margarette Elmyra Shufflebarger, not Wilson C Partain and Margaret Hastings. Wilson and Margaret are James' grandparents. James was born on December 13, 1867, and died on August 13, 1915. Thought I would help :-)

Sorry, Loretta, but i don't know what memorials you are referring to. Please be specific (include memorial numbers).
Also I really don't like using these online public messages (just because I can't follow the trail. Would you mind using email? thanks again!

George W actually died in Carbondale, Jackson Co., IL not in New Burnside, Johnson Co., IL.

You're very welcome. Glad we could help.
FYI - I posted some more Ewells that are buried in the same cemetery.

Thank you for getting back with me Loretta. It never hurts to ask. Most of the time the answer is yes and I find another extended family member.
I am finding it particularly interesting that my maternal and paternal families have inter-relationships. For example, My fraternal grandmother's brother married my maternal grandfather's sister. And, I find this really bizarre, my maternal great-grandmother's sister married the great-grandmother's son. Apparently there was a shortage of single people!
