RE: J.P. Gilbert
I'm sorry Angie, seems I've messed up for the second time in as many days. The message you got was correct.

RE: J. P. Gilbert
I'm Sorry. We did find the area the headstone would have been in, had there been one. But there was nothing there. At least you do have the description so if you wanted to put a head stone on the grave, it would not be a problem.
I started this work because my mother searched for about 50 years for my brother's grave. She died in 1996, I just found him in April and my sisters and I were able to get him a headstone just in time for what would have been his 76th birthday. I really know what it's like to search. So I am glad to be of any help to others.
Blessings, Mary

I will be glad to answer questions. I am sure that if I listed the cemetery memorials that I took picture but just haven't posted them. I will look thru my files and find those photographs. My email address is in my profile.

RE: Jones Cemetery, Saratoga County
Glad to see there are people interested in this cemetery. It is owned by the town but not maintained. Very overgrown and difficult to navigate in the summer. There are probably many other stones there which have not been photographed yet. I just captured the ones I could see at the time. Regards - Dan

re: Oliver Wait
Angie -
It is good to hear from you.

If it is true that your husband is a descendant of Dudley Emerson Jones (I think that is what I'm following from your comments). Then he and I are not related, but do share this one valued extended family.

Yes, I am related to Oliver Wait of Saratoga Co, NY. But this is Oliver the grandfather of the Oliver Hazard Wait who married Jane Ann Jones.

As you probably already know, Oliver Hazard Wait was the son of Joseph and Mary 'Polly' (WAY) WAIT (one of three known wives of Joseph). And Joseph is the son of Oliver and Sybil (SACKRIDER) WAIT.

I am descended from Oliver and Sybil through their eldest son Henry who left Saratoga county, NY in the early 1810s to settle on land he had purchased in Tioga County, NY just north of the NY/PA line. A place where several lines of my family gravitated to (some for several generations, others only fleetingly). I have come across three others outside my own family who call this Oliver Wait Sr their ancestor, and one other who lists Oliver's brother Yelverton as their ancestor.

It is good to hear from you. I will add more about the family descended from Eldad Jones in my database. It seems like I find the Jones family everywhere...

Thanks, Angie, you're very generous and kind to transfer. I will take care of him for you. And, thanks so much for posting his memorial to Findagrave; if not posted, I probably would still be looking. winnie

RE: Thank You!
Glad I could be of help. My wife is buried across the road from them so it gave me some time to spend with her. Bill

RE: sorry... didn't quite finish there
I am pretty sure that Dora's mother is buried in the same cemetery but not sure about the father. Her mother was Sarah Jane Ipock 15 Sep 1876 - 26 May 1944. Her father was William Robert Sammons Jan 1853 - Bef. 26 May 1944, If you happen to run across them I would appreciate it.
