"We Are The Story Tellers ……We are the chosen. My feelings are, in each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all those who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story."|

Tried to contact you through your email.
Thomas William Evans is my GG Grandfather. I have been looking for his burial place since 1986.
I have his Obituary,Census in Wales,America, his family in documentation.
Can you send a picture of his Headstone to me, if there is one?
Is he listed at Greenwood Cemetery? Or listed because his brother Hugh is buried there? What have I missed?
Can you also list somewhere, the name of the county of his birth in "1832". It was Sirhowy, Monmouthshire, Wales. Others will be able to find his documentation. Not sure exactly what year county borders were realigned, the county renamed. To visit his place of birth in 2016, it would be in the county of Blaenau Gwent as is listed.
|David Watson||Re: Dows family buried at Cedar Hill|
Originally they (Wm & Eleanor Dows) were buried at Christ Church Durham Parish in Nanjamoy (which was near RoseMary Lawn). Their son Frank Dows had them moved up to Cedar Hill Cemetary.
Uncle Frank was my grandfather's uncle. My grandfather was Roderick Dows Watson Sr.
I had never seen that photo of William Dows before but I have a few others of him. Thanks.

This is the correct cemetery for George Montgomery Dennis, I found him listed in the Davie County Historical and Genealogical Society cemetery survey, although his last name is spelled Dennise on the survey. His wife was Betty A Graham Dennis, #126128178, also buried here

Grace, thank you for offering to source my photo, and yes, I would be honored to have you link my photo to ancestry.com. Very sorry that you are unable to find a photo of him or his grave.
Thank you for the parent links for Oakey Schuchert. I found a death announcement for Oakey and just posted it. I also found his father's obit, which I sent to the memorial manager. Let me know if you'd like a copy, maybe you already have it. Thanks again!

No problem with sponsoring. I'm proud to do it for direct ancestors. Are you also related to Damaris or are you just one of those wonderful people who walk thru cemeteries and find those long lost graves and give us wonderful information?
|Cindy||RE: Jake N. McCray Memorial|
Absolutely no need to apologize. It was a very nice surprise and I thank you again!
