At the moment I am working on a project to try to link the Hotchkiss, Sausman, Lauver & Buck Families, using the relationship links. Thank everyone who has helped me with this project.
Born and raised in Illinois. I got hooked on genealogy about 20 years ago. I find it is one giant puzzle. Much more interesting than computer games or TV. When my Grandparents were alive I got a lot of information for a good beginning to my family tree. I have traveled to many cemeteries, to find a lot of information online is not always correct.
I am very interested in the history of Stephenson County Illinois, parts of my family settled there in the early 1800's. I have been taking photos in the older cemeteries in the county and plan to get them all up on findagrave while looking for my own ancestors.
Please NOTE: I am not related to all the people that I have added to this website. I will try to help anyone that I can with information I may have relating to any of the memorials that I have added. If you would like to have a picture of any I have posted I will be happy to share them with you as long as they are being used for non profit or being used on a non profit online site. Please add my name to avoid copy rights inference.
IMPORTANT: I am happy to transfer memorials that are not in my family tree following findagrave rules.
1) If you want a memorial transferred to you, please let me know in your first message to me. You must be immediate family per the Find A Grave rules: *Siblings* *Parents* *Grandparents* *Great-Grandparents*.
I am more than happy to add information if you send it through the EDIT tab. Feel free to add family photos if you have them.
2) PLEASE DO NOT place information in a virtual flower! The chances of me seeing it, is slim to none. Use the EDIT tab and then use the "Suggest a Correction" link and do it there.
3) If you send me information for a memorial. Please let me know where you got it from so not to inference on copy rights.
My families of interest: Hotchkiss,Sausman, Lauver, VanEpps, Buck, Story, Pease, Morici, DiVita, Chiovino, Panzica, Viola.
Good Luck in your search.

Thank you for taking a picture of James Coldwell's grave (memorial #46710085). I'm trying (actually, I'm desperately grasping at straws)to find out if James is my g-grandfather's brother. In your research, have you found anyone who might have the cemetery records? It's OK if you don't know, I'm just hoping someone somewhere will have this info.
Thanks for whatever information you can provide.

|Wally Trouten||Grave searching|
I have also done a little work searching grave sites for others in NE Iowa and SE Minnesota as well as some in SW Wisconsin. I am searching for information on three (David Fisk and two children, Amanda & Albert) that died of the fever back in 1853 in Stephenson County. Their last known residence was in Silver Creek Township in the 1850 Census. If by chance you happen to be in that area or know someone else that could help, please let me know. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks Diane!
|C. ||William Burbridge Stone, Lena IL|
I am a direct descendant of the William and Elizabeth Burkhart Burbridge listed in the information on that stone's page.
William, who married EIizabeth, passed away in Sangamon Cty, IL in 1825 or 1826. This is why he is not listed on the 1830 census at all, let alone as head of household. Elizabeth is HOH on the 1830 census as further evidence.
Also, William's father Thomas did NOT marry and Underwood. This has been a false bit of data for decades and decades. I don't know where the rumor got started, but it's not correct information.
There is an Underwood/Burbridge marriage, but it is another branch of the family, and if memory serves me right, another generation....
If any questions... email@example.com

I'm trying to relate all the Becke's in this area to our G grandparents Charles Becke b. 1828 and his daughter Charlotte Becke b 1858. Any info you may have would be great.

I could see them earlier today, but right now the website is experiencing some kind of difficulty as they won't open up nor will it let me add any
Hi! Can you please call the cemetery and obtain the grave location (Section & Lot numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the memorial or send it to me.
Forest Home Cemetery: 708-366-1900 or 773-287-0772
Forest Home is a huge cemetery with well over 70,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find someone there. I go here regularly, and since August I have found over 150 graves at Forest Home that had the location information provided. Thank you! Ace

|Laura Hickle||David Altenbern|
Diane, I am so grateful for the photo of David and Anna Altenbern's tombstone … David has been my longest running brick wall ever since I started doing genealogy! I see you have his parents listed; do you know what the source was for them? I have tentatively listed Charles and Caroline Altenbern as his parents in my files, but have been frustrated by not being able to find any records to prove it definitively. I would be thrilled if it could be proved once and for all!
I would be interested in having the memorial page transferred if you wish; I am his great-great-granddaughter, member # #47769220.
