Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm blessed to be married to the best husband in the world, am the mother of 2 wonderful daughters and grandmother of 8 beautiful grandchildren. I am also a RETIRED Professor of Nursing from a state university.

Genealogy is a hobby that began when I was a child and was allowed to explore the attic of my grandparents home (circa 1866). I found old pictures, store ledgers, Bibles, books, letters, etc., that dated back to the mid 1800's. My grandmother located the family history work by Bertha Sockwell Blackwood and from there, I was hooked! Whenever I get a spare minute (which doesn't happen often enough!) I grab a camera and head to a cemetery or I bury myself in family data on!

I am happy to make transfers to family members and to very close friends who can add personal stories or information to the memorial . I also try to make all edits requested but i do request your patience. It make take some time for me to do so.

Sockwells at Snyder & Mt. Park
No, I am not related to Sockwells. My wife and I became Find A Grave Contributors about a year ago. We've taken on the large cemetery, here at Lawton (Sunset Memorial Garden) to try and photograph it. It was only about 20 percent photographed when we started, now with our help, it's over 70 percent. We've also walked and taken lots of photos at Chatty, Faxon, Snyder, Spring Hill (near Cooperton) and Mountain Park. I do have distant kin at Spring Hill. I was raised near Mangum; but, have lived most of my adult years at Cache and Lawton.

Check out his memorial and let me know if you like what I did. I linked him to both, his bio mother and his foster mother/Aunt.

Gerry Hill
Your Relative
My lifelong friend Brink Willingham Nesbitt just died, and I thought I would work on her family- as a memorial to her.
Her daughter- I imagine, your cousin, Linda Nesbitt is on facebook with me.

Father James "Hubert" Nesbitt
Grandmother Ossie Dubois child of Mary Jane Williams

So I hope it was OK to copy your death notice for her. She had never seen it. And for her tree.

Gerry Hill in Albany Ga- where Hubert and Brink were my Neighbors once, when I was a teen, and came back from England to choose to be my Mother's neighbor again.

Elizabeth Patterson
I am related to this lady by marriage. My late husband was the grandson of Scharlotta Jane Patterson Brown. She is the daughter of John E. & Amanda Davis Patterson. John is the brother of Columbus Marshall Patterson. While I like what was done to Columbus's grave however nobody seem to find his wife important enough to even leave her a flower. But even tho I never knew this lady I am a firm believer in leaving flowers on women's graves. To me that shows respect.God bless you & know that you are a blessing.

Yes, this is funny. I had though from your other messages you were related to Claude A McGinnis.

Maybe someone knows who Claude married the 2nd time.

Thank you for all the work you do on find a grave.

Many blessing to you.

RE: Claude A. McGinnis, Jr.
After your first contact some months ago, I did some research on the Claude A McGinnis Jr. buried in the Owingsville Cemetery, Bath Co, along with wife Mary Elizabeth McGinnis.

I'm sure this is the same Claude Augustus McGinnis Jr. born Jan 16, 1900, GA. died March 1965, Broward Co, FL. Married 1st Rebecca Ashcraft. I don't know if 1st wife Rebecca died or Claude left Rebecca and married 2rd Mary Elizabeth. Since Claude was a salesman, I am guessing Claude met Mary Elizabeth thru this work and left his 1st wife sometime between 1940-1965, and married Mary Elizabeth.

I am not related to this family, only photographed Claude and Mary Elizabeth' stone in the Owingsville Cemetery.

You might want to order Claude and Mary Elizabeth SS info, this will give a lot of info.
