Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Jesse and Lori icy Brown Williams
Hi Debbie,
I am the great granddaughter of Jesse Weaver and Lori Icy Brown, Williams. I notice you have added my great uncle Ruland as children of Jessee and Icy but my grandfather Pearlie Williams is not added as there son on here. Is it possible that you could add it on here even though he is not buried at White Oak. He is buried at Smith Hill Cemetery, Pike County, Ohio along with my grandmother Emma Myrtle Gragg Williams and there other children. Thank you for putting my ggt grandparents Jesse and Icy and my great uncle Ruland to the White Oak Cemetery. I am not sure of who the other Williams are that is buried at White Oak but I would love to have the history of my Williams, Brown and Beekman family as I never really got to know my grandfathers side of the family other then my great grandmother and my great uncle Ruland Williams and his family. Thank you,Judy

Angeline Ivers
Thanks, Debbie, for adding the additional information to Angeline's memorial. Back in 2000, I was told that her husband Robert is buried next to Angeline. Don't know. Maybe his tombstone is beneath the surface like my Sprinkles were at Point Cemetery! In any event, his 1st wife is buried at Jacksonville Cemetery.

RE: Linden Grove Cemetery
Can you get photo of the lot with some kind of location markers in place to show where they are? Others use flags, standing stars, or like that to indicate the lots.

Thank You Very Much
Thank you Debbie for providing the wonderful cemetery picture and cemetery info card for Vachel Sutherland Williams, and the death certificate for Adeline Williams Snodgrass. Are you a descendent? These are relatives of mine. I have some beautiful pictures of the ladies in the family that I would be glad to share. Do you have any more information???

I am very interested in Sophronia Williams Curran's parents. My research is stuck there. Also, in addition to the two Vachel Sutherland Williams', I have a Vachel Williams Sutherland in my tree, and I have been looking for the original link between the two families.

Thank you for your postings. Jean

Mary Wilson
Debbie, I called Floral Hills Memorial and got a location for Mary Wilson. She is in Eternity Mausoleum, Lower A3. It is not my memorial so I had to send edit to the person. I have also requested picture and also of her husband Donald who should be buried with her.

I'm pretty sure it's Nofsinger. Sometimes it's hard to differentiate between an f and an s on a weathered grave marker. Let me know what you think.
