Billy R. Richardson (1923-1944) Red Hill Cemetery
Thank you for sharing this headstone photograph of Tec5 Richardson. He was one of several young American soldiers who were killed during the Liberation of Rambouillet, France, during the month of August 1944. The soldiers who died were originally buried by the villagers of Rambouillet, and after the war the bodies were returned to their families in the United States. In grateful remembrance, Miss Francoise Winieska wrote a book in both French and English to tell the story of these heroes of the 7th Armored Division, of which Tec5 Richardson was a part. Thanks again for sharing this picture and making his record more complete....

Mary Louise Settle memorial # 66577445
Mary Louise Settle's maiden name is Cross, not Halsey. In four of her children's death certificates she is listed as Mary L Cross. I found the marriage record of Mary Morris and T L Halsey Cross, 5 May 1852 in Cass Co, TX.
The informant on Mary's death certificate was her son Halsey M Settle. He may have known that he was named after his grandfather, but didn't understand or remember which name it was.
