Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started manually working on my genealogy around 1990 scraping together pieces of paper that my mother had written tidbits on, then talking to my great-aunt, aunts and uncles to get more info. Once I was able to electronically compile my genealogy it felt like starting over but my tree has branched enormously since then. I have walked a few cemeteries dragging my husband along who has graciously help hunt for tombstones. I have been interested in cemeteries since my youth. The age of modern technology has help tremendously in having instant photos. I am now retired and spend tons of time cleaning up my tree. I get a little obsessed wanting it to be as accurate as possible. We have 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild...our house is full on special gatherings. I truly appreciate everyone who is involved in genealogy and thank you in advance for all that you have to offer.

RE: Bob Owens - James W Bussey
Nancy's maiden name was Bonner. There could be another spelling. I believe her parents or some other relatives may be buried at the same cemetery.

Bob Owens - James W Bussey
Thanks Martha,

Nancy Bonner Bussey must have married James W Bussey around 1888 (according to the census). She was his second wife.

In the 1900 Census it lists them as James W Buss (age 54) and Nancy A Buss (age 31). At that stage she had four children ages 9 through 1.

Of course Nancy outlives James and I have records of her applying for his Civil War pension in 1920.

James W is my Great Great Grandfather. I'm descended from his daughter Ida Bussey, a daughter from his first marriage to Mary. I haven't been able to find out anything about Mary.

Thanks again,

Bob Owens

New Harmony Cemetery, Cleburne County, AL
Dear Martha,

My name is Bob Owens. I live in Oregon and was visiting Alabama in January of this year. I was hoping to find the headstone of my Great Great Grandfather James W Bussey and his second wife Nancy A Bussey at New Harmony Cemetery in Cleburne County.

My wife and I walked through the cemetery but could not find a headstone. Of course the weather was terrible (30 degrees) and we could have walked right passed the headstone.

I did some research through "tracking your roots" and it was indicated that you could possibly find the headstone "beginning at the south end of the building, facing the back of the church."

I was wondering if you had a contact at the New Harmony Church/Cemetery that could possibly see if there was a headstone that I missed.

I have added him to Macedonia Cemetery, Heard County. That is where his wife family are buried. The family who says he is buried in Frolona, has not got back to me yet. S Posey believes he may be buried there also. Find A Grave # 127191786 ...Ed

Kulgar family
I did some research for James & Jimmie Mae Kulgar burial site. I have a copy of the Carroll County Cemetery survey books compiled by the CC Genealogy Society in 2005. They are not listed in the survey of Carroll County cemeteries. I know that there are Kulgars' in Polk County, GA. Hope this is a little help!
