Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am working on entering all graves in the Rhinebeck Cemetery that are listed in the two comprehensive books compiled by Arthur C.M. Kelly of Kinship, Rhinebeck, NY

- Rhinebeck, New York : death records of the 18th and 19th centuries by Arthur C.M. Kelly.

- Rhinebeck Association Cemetery : 20th century deaths / transcribed and indexed by Arthur C. M. Kelly.

Both of these books correct errors that are found an older publication of the cemetery records - Old gravestones of Dutchess County, New York / nineteen thousand inscriptions collected and edited by J. Wilson Poucher, M. D. and Helen Wilkison Reynolds.

As I work my way around the cemetery I am photographing as many headstones that I can find. I am also adding any interments that are not listed in the Kelly book, basically those after 1999.

I have two databases of interment records for the Rhinebeck Cemetery. I will be adding some of this information to existing records and adding records for those who are interred but who do not have a headstone.

I am happy to transfer management of any record not in my family. Photos can be copied freely for private use.

William J Johnson, #94684655

You requested an edit for Mr Johnson to change his date of death from "1913" to "Jan 29, 1913". I want to document the source. Would it be from one of the books you mention above?

- Rhinebeck, New York : death records of the 18th and 19th centuries by Arthur C.M. Kelly.

- Rhinebeck Association Cemetery : 20th century deaths / transcribed and indexed by Arthur C. M. Kelly.

Thank you for your help, Jay.

Hi Bev! Shy Schultz alert! If you could keep an eye out for any sign of Luke Jr's parents that would be great. Everyone before and after him are in Rhinebeck RC or Assoc cemeteries, so it would be odd for them not to be. The dates are:
-Lucas Schultz 1772-1825
-Ellenore Knickerbocker 1780-1867
Lucas was the son of Peter born 1750, bur DRC and Grandson of Christian Otto Schultz bur DRC.
Hope you're well, and thanks for the article! My Dad has it with the collection. Chris

Hi, Beverly,

Thank you so much for the information on Anne's parents. She married into my family, but I didn't have complete information on her.

Thanks, again! And Happy Thanksgiving.

Take care.

RE: Mallory Photo
My relative is Emma G. Bowers who I strongly believe is Josephine's daughter from a first marriage. I know Emma had a half sister by the name Fannie Phillips, and I have seen a Fannie enumerated with Emma, Josephine and the other Bowers. I know also know that Emma was from Rhinebeck. That's all I know at this point and I am working on getting source documentation to confirm the birth and subsequent second marriage.

Beverly - thanks for the photo! I uploaded a picture today in a Cemetry in East Haddam, CT! What a nice surprise to see the Mallory picture - I recently made a break through on that line.

Thank you so much for all your hard work on the Rhinebeck Cemetery, and for letting people use your fantastic pictures. I am related to the Hamlins. I see I had James C. Hamlin's birthdate wrong--the headstone and a newspaper article I found this morning confirm it, so I fixed it. You are right--John O. (for Olmsted) was the son of James C. Hamlin and Emily Olmsted. Nancy Kelly told me John O. Hamlin could often be seen riding his bicycle around Rhinebeck. I know he was very active in the local and family history scene, but no one seems to know what happened to his papers.

William Wainwright
No problem to move the memorial but before I do, confirm that both the father William and son William Wainwright are buried there.

On this stone is the inscription:

ANNA DELANEY (not Delancy) OSTROM with a dod of January 27, 1939 (not February). Her age is probably inscribed further down underneath this date, if the earth was pushed away.

Thanks for posting these stones.
