Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been into genealogy since 1983 when a family member contacted me for information. Since then it has been hobby that never ends, a puzzle incomplete. The earlier years were different when I sat in libraries and historical societies throughout the northeast USA and read thru the microfiche. I did photograph headstones, but back then only because it might have been different or pretty. "Find A Grave" is a great treasure.

I hope to take a break from the fine print for a while and use my photography experience for a change. Living in the historic Wyoming Valley of Northeast PA, there are many cemeteries that are old and need to be preserved or logged soon.
I plan to do my share, and pass it forward .......

Since I also photograph as I travel I add many who are not of my family. If you have a family connection with any of my entries, please feel free to ask for transfer...

RE: Franklin H. Van Duzer - Memorial # 127471137
Sorry, I should have my ducks in a row before I leave a message.

Edited death year from 1925 to 1924. Source:

Publication: Pittston Gazette; Date: 8 Jul 1924

Franklin Van Duzer Aged 17 passed away

Much sorrow was occasioned by the sudden death of Franklin Harold Van Duzer, aged 17, son of Mr and Mrs Ernest Van Duzer of 207 Warren St at 1:30 o'clock this morning in Pittston Hospital. The young man was taken suddenly ill while camping in Pike County last Saturday and the following night was operated on in Pittston Hospital for gangrenous appendicitis.

Born on Frothingham St Pittston, the young man reached his 17th birthday on May 20th last. He was a member of the sophomore at West Pittston High school this past term and was much interested in athletics, particularly in football, having been a member of the varsity squad. He was familiarly known as "Park" Van Duzer. After school hours and since vacation he had been employed at the A&P store. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Water St where he was a leader of a group of the B.Y.P.U. the Librarian of the Sunday school and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the High-Y club. Because of his affable disposition, his many interest and good sportsmanship he will be greatly missed by his many friends.

Besides his parents his is survived by his six brothers and sisters: Russell of Pittston, Mary, Walter, Erma, Marlyn and Grace at home.

The funeral will be held from the home on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. M. H. Jones officiating. Interment will be in Pittston Cemetery.

Thank you so much for the heads up! Will send you birth info in a minute via the edit tab.

Father was Charles Ernest Van Duzer, born 4 Aug 1878 in Factoryville and his mother was Emily Stevens, born 17 Jun 1878 in England. Can't find entries for them on Find A Grave.

Thank you
thank you so very much for the photo of my grandparents. You have no idea what this means to me. Should you happen to be at that Cemetery again and see more of the Corby Headstone would you please send me a photo of them. Since I no longer live in PA and don't get back there due to illness the photos are helping me to replace photos lost in the flood that destroyed my home in 2008.
I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
