When I walk a cemetery, I make a note of other nearby relatives, the section/area I am in and include it in my transcriptions. When you are researching a 'John Smith', it helps to know if there are other 'Smith' names next to him. It is very helpful having any plot information.
Some cemeteries restrict photo taking by non-family members. Having any plot information helps all of the photo volunteers.
When I first started, I just wrote down names without photos. Now I take photos of all of the headstones.

Quite often I find myself researching families that I post. Then, linking them and adding additional information for their descendants.

As time allows, I am willing to do some Oregon obituary research for others. This is my form of 'Pay It Forward'.

I will make corrections/additions to any memorial that I have created.

All requests are verified before I change them.

Zadoc Riggs
Thank you so much for posting a memorial for Zadoc Riggs. I thought I had "lost him"! His death record showed him at Portland Memorial Mausoleum, but they had no record for him. His obit said Salem Mausoleum but they said they had no record for him either. Thanks for solving one of my mysteries!! Janice Handsaker

Louis Delman Pettyjohn
Ann,

When I linked to Find a Grave for Uncle Del I discovered the birth year is wrong on his gravestone at Belcrest Memorial Cemetery in Salem, Oregon.
For his second wife Alda Cannon Pettyjohn 1886 is the correct birth year. I didn't notice the discrepancy when we took photos of the gravestones.
Del was born in 1876. Hopefully you can go to my Ancestry.com page for him and see numerous citations for the 1876 birth year: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/17661662/person/540154870
If he were born in 1886, he would have been 11 years old at the time of his first marriage.
I will be going to Belcrest for Memorial Day. I will take a copy of the documentation I have for him to the office. I doubt there is anything one can do to have the date on the gravestone changed.
Susan Lee Cannon (numerous other family members are buried nearby.)

Cornelius Coffey
You inquired if Cornelius Coffey (37971419) at Sunset Park could be a duplicate of a Cornelius Coffey at Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove. The memorial in at Forest Grove appears to be for an infant (89334440) with placement from Forest Grove Undertaking Co. So I do not believe them to be duplicates. Let me know should you have additional information that may clarify.

Transfer Memorial
Hello, I am new to Find A Grave and have decided to take on a project to find all my family members and get them linked up. I am asking to have memorial #73919912 for Naomi Garnjobst transferred to me. She was my dad's uncle and sister to Beverly Cline (my grandmother) who is buried at Rose City Cemetary in Portland. I was just there and took photos of that grave this weekend and would like to be able to link the sisters when I get the memorial up for my Grandma.

Thank you so much,

Toni Perry

Harry H Belt - Find A Grave Memorial# 65903209
Greetings,

I am requesting a follow up on corrections to Oregon Supreme Court Judge, Harry H. Belt. I have previously sent information concerning the change request. Including the adding of his middle name and adding the official title, Judge to his name. It is a title like Rev., Gen., Col., or Gov.. It is carried all his life and death as a honor we give to him for his service to all the people of Oregon.

Thank you, Martin Burrell
