Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family was originally from Sussex and Warren County, New Jersey. Interested in the Cox, Osmun, Slater, and others from that area.

Also interested in the Martz, Seidel, and Dieffenbacher lines near Washingtonville, PA.

Please feel free to use or repost any photos I have taken...I don't believe myself to be Ansel Adams like others do on the site.

Laura Hammond Cox
I posted a photograph of Laura Hammond Cox to her memorial. The photograph was found in a box of photos that my dad had of the family. She was a cousin of my great grandfather's.

Be well,
Fred L Hammond

Melvin Wanner
Regarding your photo request for Mt. Zion: Do you have any notion where Melvin Wanner's grave is located? Even a section will help. I've seen Wanner's scattered here and there but it's a large cemetery.

RE: Ditto pics
You are most welcome, Jeff. We looked very closely at William Leo's marker, and the death date seemed to be April 1914, Aged 21 Yrs.

You are so welcome. I also took a picture of his wife's headstone, Bess H. Brasted but didn't see a memorial for her.

RE: Dayton Grover - Findagrave
Hi Jeff,

Martha L. Grover b. 4 May 1878 in Newark, d. before 18 Feb 1947 (Her father's obit does not mention her). She married a Benjamin Sanford. I do not have anything more on her. She may be the same Martha Grover I found in Find A Grave in the Rosedale & Rosehill Cemetery located in Linden, New Jersey. There is a Benjamin F Sanford there too.

Emily Grover b. May 1885 in Newark, d. 23 Jan 1903 in Newark. She was interred 25 Jan 1903 in the Green-Wood Cemetery located in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. Willhemina Grover is also buried in Green-Wood -- interred 29 Sep 1887.

(I recently obtained the Will Extract of Harriet Leete who purchased quite a few lots for family members, their spouses, and descendants. (Harriet Leete is Dayton's mother-in-law. Dayton's wife is buried in the Green-Wood Cemetery along with many other family members). (Your posting of Dayton's obit on my Find A Grave memorial site lead me to learning about the Green-Wood Cemetery which in turn lead me to obtaining the Will Extract). (The obit was a pot of gold for finding Leete & Bailey family members).

Ruth Grover b. Jan 1894 and d. before 26 Aug 1935 (Not finding the info I had to give me the before date. She is certainly deceased before 18 Feb 1947, as she too is not listed in her father's obit).

Looks like the only children who survived Dayton, according to the 18 Feb 1947 obit, were: Shedrick, Sarah Grover Rothlein, and Mary Grover Archer Umstead.

Hope this info is useful for you. It's all I have for now.

Dayton Grover - Findagrave
Hi Jeff,

Thank you once again for the obit on Dayton -- it has unlocked the door to many more relatives, in New York of all places. (Not New Jersey).

So now I have Leete, Grover, Ferguson, & Bailey and hot on the trail of others and their kin.

Thank you for the pot of gold. :-)
