Family researcher addict.|
Love RVing and yorkies.
Thank you to all the fine FAG volunteers who have seen fit to transfer family memorials to me for my care. I do not delete memorials that are transferred to me, I attempt to enhance them so as to honor the ancestor.
Photos in many cases are those in my possession, please contact me before clicking and claiming, I mean, we might be related! Of course, many of the lovely headstone photos are the work of many volunteers here and you need to ask them to use their photos.
I have taken a number of photos in Baldwin County Alabama cemeteries which I have posted here. I grant permission to any family researcher, or any genealogical or historical society/group in Baldwin County Alabama the use any of the BALDWIN COUNTY ALABAMA photos . This waiving of copyright and use is only for BALDWIN COUNTY ALABAMA photos.
You can find a email addy on my blog Reflections From the Fence. Or message me here, I will get notifications, hope to hear from you soon.
Everyone, and I do MEAN EVERYONE, deserves a memorial. Recently I had to delete a memorial on the insistence of a family member. I cried, really, I cried.
I hope I never, ever, have to delete another memorial.

Hi Carol, It always makes me feel bad when I tell people there is no grave marker for a family member. I know it's so disappointing to them and it makes me feel that I just didn't try hard enough to find it. I have one entire generation in one family plot (Charleston, SC) and there isn't one headstone there. It was difficult to believe because they simply were not poor... frugal, but not poor. All the best, Irene

Nellie's photo updated today !

I have changed the year of his birth to match what I had recorded from the obituary. I will try to track down the obit again to clarify the exact date of birth, but it will probably be awhile before I get to that.

You're very welcome, Carol. Glad I could help out !

Wow. I just assumed from the male spelling of Francis on the marker that SHE was a HE. Was she in the military? If so, I'll bet they just got the spelling wrong on the marker. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen this happen.

There is a marker for him. I added it to his memorial page. The photo is dark. (It was early this morning.) I can go back another time and try to get a better picture. :)

I was mistaken. The two Boyces you inquired about are buried in two separate sections of the cemetery. As it turns out, I have photographed all of Section S, where William Boyce is buried. Unfortunately, all that is there is a concrete marker that was meant to be temporary, and only a small part of it is showing. The grave where he is buried is shared with two other people who are probably unrelated. First initials and last names are probably impressed in the concrete, but no dates would appear on such a marker. This sort of burial generally indicates it was a donated grave.

One other thing... If there is no visible marker, I will take an area photo and let you know.

I started out working on Holyrood Catholic Cemetery by finding and adding all the names, burial dates and grave locations first. Now I have gone back and am photographing the entire cemetery. I have not photographed Section R (where they are buried) yet. I will add these two names to my list of graves to photograph, and will let you know when I have added them to the memorial pages. Please let me know if you come across any other names you would like to see grave photos for. :)
