Family history is an obsession of mine and I enjoy the hunt this pasttime offers. I keep busy with maintaining databases and websites for family reunion purposes, collecting history for the local county historical society, and answering photograph requests on this website.
Stitzer United Methodist Church Cemetery Hi Jensearch, I hope I can explain this correctly. The picture you posted of the above named cemetery is incorrect. The picture you posted is actually of the Stitzer Lutheran Cemetery, and the picture you posted for Stitzer Luthern is actually the United Methodis Church Cemetery. The confusion comes from the fact that the Stitzer Methodist Church is right next to the Lutheran cemetery. I have added a new photo for the Methodist cemetery as they have a fancy new gate and it looks fabulous, but your photos of the Lutheran Cemetery are great and simply need to be added to the correct cemetery. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zVOfAlmaMq-c.kIK5LnMMOVis It is from 6 Degrees of Grant County and if you zoom in enough you can see the difference. Thanks for all your efforts, any questions, just ask. Cheers, Kerin
Hannah Warren Johnson #38010655 You have done a lot of work on Hannah's memorial and those of her siblings. You will be happy to know that another volunteer found the correct memorial for her husband, Nathan Valmore Johnson. He was buried near his daughter (Juanita) and his second wife (Adda) in Shawana County. I made a link from Nathan's memorial to Hannah's.
His correct memorial was found by the volunteer who offered to get his gravestone photo at Marble Cemetery. He couldn't find his grave or any record of it, and then looked for the daughter's burial.
RE: #15012725 Nice to meet you, I have been unable to find any information in the news paper about Carrie's accident, I will continue to look. I don't need to manage her memorial, you are taking care of it just fine. The only Wm. Matthews I have passed away in 1880, he was the son of Thomas and Caroline, he was very young when he died, is this William your 2nd great grandfather? He was very young when he died, what information do you have on him?
#15012725 "Carrie" Matthews Hi, this is my great grand aunt. I am wondering if you will allow me to use your gravestone photo on my ancestry tree? Also, I just found out tonight that she died from a tragic accident, she was at her grandmother's house and had a pot of boiling water tipped over on her. She survived for a couple of days before succumbing to her injuries. Her younger brother remembers everyone tip toeing around the house so they wouldn't disturb her rest. I am going to look in the news paper and see if I can't find any mention of this accident. Tragic for sure. If I find anything I will let you know so you can add it to her memorial.
