Bio Photo I am an amateur Civil War historian.I live in SE Minnesota and I have walked thru aprox 750 cemeteries in Southern Minnesota , Western Wisconsin and Northern Iowa looking for Civil War Veteran burial sites. As of Aug 2014 I have personally located, identified and visited aprx 6700 Union Civil War Veterans burial sites.

Yes you did help. I do remember now the GAR on the iron thing when I was there at the cemetery years ago.
Would WRC and GAR have records?

Can you tell me what that little iron thing is that is on the right of the tombstone you have in the picture. I see that the picture of my GG grpa has one as well. You took a picture of his stone in Chester Hill Cemetery. His name was Worden Yates Wells.

Hi Tom,
I have found my 2nd Gr- Uncle Fredrich W Balow is listed in the Civil War registration for Minnesota, on Ancestry.

His grave is at Riverview in Wabasha and I do not see a military marker on his grave. His memorial number is #130422933.
